Where To Find All Grampy Turnips In Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Grampy Turnips are one of Mario & Luigi: Brothership’s most bizarre inventions. These oddly poetic turnip people are hidden in the ground waiting to be discovered across Brothership’s islands, and if you manage to find them all you’ll be rewarded with a pretty incredible prize.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership Pre-Order Guide: Prices, Release Date

There’s still time to guarantee yourself a seat on the Brothership.

Some Grampy Turnips are more hidden than others, and some you won’t be able to find on your first visit to a particular island. If you’re having trouble finding all 18 Grampys, this guide will show you where to go.

There are nine Grampys spread around the islands and nine you will find on the very last island. If you have the first nine already you don’t have to worry about finding the rest until you’re just about to beat the game.

Shipshape Island Grampy

The Shipshape Island Grampy can be found behind the waterfall on the left side of the island. You’ll need to use the Bro UFO ability to reach him. This Golden Grampy will keep track of how many Grampys you’ve found and give you hints about where to find more.

Revisit this Grampy periodically to collect rewards and figure out where to look for the other Grampys.

Twistee Island Grampy

The Twistee Island Grampy can be found on the far left side of the map on top of the tallest hill. You’ll need to use the yellow flower bridge to get here, so you won’t be able to find the Grampy until you’ve reconnected the Twistee Island lighthouse to Shipshape Island.

This is a Grampy you’ll want to track down on a return trip sometime after your first visit to this island.

Raynforst Island Grampy

The Raynforst Island Grampy can be easy to miss. He’s on top of a hill on branches off to the left of the right side path, but you may not even notice this path at first. Look for the vendor and then walk directly to the left, you’ll find a sharp incline that will lead you to this Grampy.

Desolatt Island Grampy

Unlike the Raynforst Island Grampy, the Desolatt Island Grampy is almost impossible to miss. Look for a row of four turnips outside the big building in the back of town. This is probably the first Grampy you’ll find since it’s right out in the open.

Offandon Island Grampy

You won’t be able to reach this Grampy on your first visit to Offandon Island. You’ll need to come back with a disguise that lets you cross the center courtyard without arousing suspicion from Bowser’s minions first.

Once you have a disguise, you’ll find the Grampy in an outcropping on the path just to the left of the center courtyard, surrounded by a bunch of other turnips.

Bulbfish Island Grampy

Bulbfish Island Grampy can be found in the underground area on the right side of the map. Once you find the key to unlock the jail cells, open the gate beside the underground’s main entrance. This Grampy is sitting in plain sight in the center of the little room on the other side of the gate.

Jellyfish Island Grampy

Jellyfish Island Grampy is hidden amongst a large circle of turnips right in the middle of the main courtyard. Look for the vendors outside of Adaphne’s Hall and you’ll find this Grampy on a raised platform right in the middle.

Soli-Tree Grampys

Soli-Tree Islands' 8 Grampys in Mario and Luigi Brothership.

The remaining nine Grampy Turnips are all found on Soli-Tree Island. This is the final island in Brothership and you won’t have access to it until you’re just about to beat the game. The first eight Grampys are all together in a secret room you’ll find by walking off the screen in one of the puzzle rooms on the lower floor.

The lower level comprises eight separate chambers containing a key that you’ll need to find and bring back to the center room to activate the elevator. All nine Grampys are found in the chamber that features the same see-saw puzzles you encountered all the way back on Rumbla Island.

Once you solve the first two puzzles you can walk all the way to left where you’ll find a group of four turnips. If you continue walking to the left you’ll find a secret entrance leading to eight Grampys.

One of the Grampys in this room is a Golden Grampy, so once you’ve found the final Grampy you can backtrack to this room to claim your final reward from him.

The 18th and final Grampy is in this same chamber. Progress through the puzzle until you reach the final see-saw in the northmost area of this chamber. The last Grampy can be found right next to the see-saw.
