What Fortnite Season is it Right Now?

What season of Fortnite are we currently in? Between all the different game modes we kind of have multiple seasons on the go at once right now. But what season of Fortnite is everything in?

The main part of the game, Battle Royale, is currently in a mini-season, called Fortnite Remix. It’s a 4 week shorter version of a season, taking us back to a re-worked version of Chapter 2. It doesn’t have its own seasonal number, however, but it’s kind of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 5 or Chapter 2.5. Although, with the other modes only launching at the start of Chapter 5, they aren’t quite as far in. This is how Fortnite’s current season breaks down.

At the moment, Battle Royale of Fortnite is in Fortnite Remix, a mini-season without an official number. This is also the 32nd season overall!

Fortnite’s first Chapter had 10 different seasons, but things got shorter over time. We saw only 7 seasons in Chapter 2, before turning to just a handful per Chapter more recently. We now only seem to get four seasons for each Chapter. We’ve also had Fortnite OG which was kind of a Chapterless mini-season and now Fortnite Remix. A very similar thing in concept, a flashback to a past season. However, like OG it doesn’t have an official designation beyond a subtitle.

So, while we’re technically in our 32nd out of all Fortnite seasons, it’s called Fortnite Remix. The current season is only running until December 2nd. So, we don’t have too long to wait until the next one kicks off. That’ll be the start of a new Fortnite Chapter, so we’ll back to season 1! Although, this time it’s Chapter 6 Season 1.

That’s just Battle Royale though. Fortnite is a lot more than that in 2024. These are other seasons you’ll need to keep track of in-game.

Fortnite Festival works on a bit of a different schedule to main Fortnite. It’s currently in Fortnite Festival Season 6. This is all about Snoop Dogg.

The current Festival season will run through to Chapter 6. Originally, Festival seasons didn’t line up with those in Battle Royale. Although, for the last two seasons they seem to have become aligned.

It’s go as far as the current season having content in Battle Royale. While you unlock a Snoop Dogg skin in Fortnite Festival, he’s on the map as an NPC with a mythic in Battle Royale.

Does Fortnite Lego Have Seasons?

Fortnite Lego doesn’t have official seasons, but it does receive new content at roughly the same pace. The interesting thing with this game mode is everything so far is permanent. Rather than being tied to a seasonal schedule where content leaves, it just expands the game out.

Most recently we saw this with the Lego Fortnite Star Wars expansion. This content is available even after the end date, but the event pass will be gone once its time is over. This means there’s a bit less fomo in Lego, most of the content is there for you to replay whenever. It isn’t really in a seasonal system like the other game.

Does Rocket Racing Have Seasons?

Kind of like Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing doesn’t have definitive seasons. It’s did previously get batches of new content with a set of themed content dropped regularly. However, Epic has decided not to term these as seasons and to instead just classify them as more content for racing.

More recently, the whole set-up with Rocket Racing has become a bit of an unknown. Epic has stoped doing larger themed content drops. While not officially discontinued and getting fresh rewards, a lot of players are wondering is Rocket Racing dead. While we don’t get larger updates anymore, we are still expecting more content in the future.

Fortnite Reload

The most recent mode to come to Fortnite is Reload! This is a mini battle Royale that’s only launched very recently. At the moment, this doesn’t have clear seasonal divisions.

So far, it’s had updates that shuffle around its loot pool and extra modes. We can’t really call these seasons.

With the launch of Fortnite Remix, it got its biggest update. A new map for Fortnite Reload along with the launch of Solos. Thos wasn’t termed a new season. it provides as good of a distinction in the game’s progress as a new season would. However, it seems Reload will just get new content when it’s ready, rather than being tied to seasons.

What Ranked Fortnite Season is it?

Finally, we have the Fortnite Ranked mode. This is parallel to Battle Royale. It’s in the same seasons and refreshes with a new rank for players since the regular season changes over.

This one is simple to keep track of, it ends when the Fortnite season ends. That’s how each of the Fortnite seasons works! With so many modes it is getting trickier to keep track of what Fortnite season it is. At the moment, they’re all lined up. December will bring the launch of a new Chapter and yet more new modes though.
