Star Rail’s Leaked New Honkai Impact 3rd Character Explained

Star Rail's Leaked New Honkai Impact 3rd Character Explained

The release of Honkai: Star Rail has caused a resurgence of interest in the Honkai franchise as a whole. Its predecessor, Honkai Impact 3rd, was released almost a decade ago. But as Honkai: Star Rail continues to grow in popularity, HoYoverse is making sure to call back to its previous titles.

One way HoYoverse has done this is by directly referencing previous cast members in the Honkai franchise. While these characters aren’t typically dropped into Honkai: Star Rail in the exact same form as their predecessors, fans of the franchise can easily spot how these characters are related.

Though the game remains unconfirmed, plenty of leaks surrounding HoYoverse’s next game title, Starry Sky Valley, continue to circulate.

Characters that Star Rail and Impact 3rd Share

Most characters in Honkai: Star Rail that reference preexisting characters in other entries come from Honkai Impact 3rd. For example, Star Rail’s Seele looks most like her Honkai Impact 3rd counterpart – Seele Vollerei. The two characters even share similar personality traits and use the Quantum element in combat. Similarly, Welt has been confirmed to be the same Welt Yang of the Astral Express in both Impact 3rd and Star Rail thanks to some Easter eggs.

Bronya is yet another instance of a cast member having an alternate version. With many considering Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail to be parallel universes, one could consider these counterparts to be parallel characters as well. Two versions of Bronya in Impact 3rd have counterparts in Star Rail. Haxxor Bunny and Silverwing are two of Bronya’s forms in Impact 3rd. Though these counterparts are obviously not identical to their originators, Star Rail’s Silver Wolf and Bronya look quite like Haxxor Bunny and Silverwing respectively.

With this connection between the two games so well established, players are unsurprised by new leaks surrounding Honkai: Star Rail’s alleged next cast member. If these leaks prove to be true, Star Rail will once again be receiving another twist on an Impact 3rd character.

Another Impact 3rd Character Heads to Star Rail

Kevin Kaslana is first introduced to Honkai Impact 3rd’s game story in Chapter 9 EX-2. He is not only the leader of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers and World Serpent, but he is also the first successful MANTIS. Under the code name “Deliverance,” Kevin Kaslana was ranked highest of the thirteen heroes of Fire Moth.

Leaked images of a new character coming to Honkai: Star Rail in its next world were released by Cleo and Seele. These leakers are prominent in the community and known for being the first to leak Fugue’s backstory and the first to claim that Reca would not be included in Star Rail’s 2.7 update.

On top of the images, the leakers allege that the new character’s name will be Bayer, in reference to German astronomer Johann Bayer and his Bayer designation system for naming stars. Bayer looks very derivative of Kevin Kaslana, sharing the same short white haircut, stark blue eyes, and black jacket-suit with a flared collar. Cleo and Seele do not confirm when Bayer will be added to Star Rail, but continue to suggest that he will be included after the launch of the game’s next world.

There are some rumors circulating that make Cleo and Seele’s claims plausible. Star Rail’s upcoming fourth world is alleged to involve a “time-bending” mechanic based on ancient Greek and Roman hot spring baths called Thermae. This has led many to believe that the world and upcoming characters will be inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. Part of Honkai Impact 3rd’s final arc establishes that Kevin Kaslana has been around since the birth of specific civilizations, with Greece being one of the featured regions.

Once again, all of this information is alleged. Even taken with a grain of salt, Kevin Kaslana’s addition to Honkai: Star Rail seems imminent, even if his name has changed.
