With The Sims 4 continuing to plow on as the most dominant force in the life game space, one of its biggest rivals is taking a little longer to build “a stronger foundation” for launch. InZOI comes from PUBG developer Krafton and has been making waves for its particularly realistic visual style. With fellow Sims rival Life By You canceled by publisher Paradox, InZOI looks poised to deliver a real challenge to EA’s colossal free PC game. In order to do so, however, we’re going to be waiting until March 2025.
Previously, the InZOI release date was scheduled loosely for late 2024, but producer Hungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim confirms that Krafton will now be launching the life game into early access on Friday March 28, 2025. “We apologize that we couldn’t bring you the game sooner,” he says, “but this decision reflects our commitment to giving InZOI the best possible start.” Kjun explains that the decision was made following the reception to the InZOI Character Studio demo and its various playtests.
“Initially, we were uncertain about introducing ‘Canvas’ to the world, not knowing how many people would actually participate,” Kjun says of the character creator tool. “However, the turnout was amazing, with an enormous number of uploads. Seeing so much engagement brought us immense happiness, and it was inspiring to see how deeply people connected with InZOI.”
Because of this, Kjun explains, the team realized “the responsibility we have to provide players with the most complete experience possible.” He compares the development process to that of raising a child, saying “The extra love and care required to nurture a child to adulthood is how I see our journey with InZOI – a game that we will be nurturing together from its early access birth.”
Having to wait a little longer for something you’re excited about is always a little agonizing, but ultimately having a more robust product at launch is worth the wait. 2025 should be an exciting year for fans of the genre, as we’re also expecting the Paralives release date to fall at some point next year.
The InZOI early access launch is now set for Friday March 28, 2025. Kjun says the new release date “reflects our commitment to building a stronger foundation for InZOI, so we can embark on this journey in the best way possible.” He promises to continue delivering updates on the game’s development process moving forward.
