If you like slow, methodical shooters with white-knuckle tension, 2024 has definitely been a good year. Gray Zone Warfare has captured a lot of hearts on Steam, with Delta Force also inbound in the near future. Meanwhile, Escape from Tarkov is still going strong with fresh material and vital gameplay balances – but there’s another contender for the tactical FPS throne. Arena Breakout Infinite is a squad-driven, one-bullet-and-you-are-dead-style extraction shooter that made the jump to early access back in August. Now, it’s pushing on its rivals with a huge first season. The Arena Breakout Infinite Season One release date arrives very soon.
You pick your operator, you customize your gun, and you pick your gear. Like EFT or Hunt Showdown, Arena Breakout Infinite then drops you into an open-world map populated with rival players and hostile NPCs – an extraction-based FPS game, the goal is to collect as many valuables as you can and get out alive, but enemy bullets aren’t your only problem.
Everything you collect adds extra weight to your backpack and you will gradually become hungry, thirsty, and tired. If you reload a half-empty magazine, you lose all the bullets inside. If you get wounded, the amount of time it will take to heal depends on the severity of the injury – if you take a bad hit in combat and want to bandage yourself up, you need to drop your gun, leaving you vulnerable to more attacks.
The early-access version of Arena Breakout Infinite hasn’t arrived on Steam yet – like Tarkov, you play through the game’s own official website. However, developer Morefun Studios is now preparing to launch Season One.
Here we get two new maps, the TV Station and the Expanded Armory, as well as additional game modes that are based around a new, dynamic weather system. Fog and storms will ravage the battlefield, making combat younger and more intense. Female operatives will also arrive in Season One, as well as eight new weapons, a seasonal battle pass, and more cosmetics and skins.
The Arena Breakout Infinite Season One release date is set for Wednesday November 20. Keep in mind that, even after the launch of the first season, the game is still in early access. If you want to try it, just head here.
