With the Steam version of the game out and receiving regular updates, developers Starry Studios’ full focus is on the game’s mobile port. If you search Google for Once Human console port information, you’re inundated with articles telling you there isn’t one. That’s going to change in the future.

After we have completed the development and release of the mobile version, the next most important milestone will be our console version.

Speaking to TheGamer, Once Human’s chief designer Woody tells me, “The development of a console version is part of our plans.” However, with the team working on the game’s mobile version, he says, “After we have completed the development and release of the mobile version, the next most important milestone will be our console version.”

With multiple versions of the game in the works, alongside continuous updates, Starry Studios is showing no signs of slowing down. Woody told me, “We still think we have more stories to tell and more characters waiting to be presented and perfected. We really want a comprehensive in-game story, and that’s where all of our attention will go next.”

You can read our Once Human interview in full, in which Woody tells me about the team’s “very fair” monetization strategy, its grand plans for base-building, and its very Western inspirations.
