One Piece fans have been devoid of manga chapters as of late, as Oda took a break not just for the sake of his own body but to research and help out the live-action team more. However, while this break was certainly hard for some fans, at the same time, it was also filled with a lot of events. Not only did fans get a new volume release, which gave them access to a new SBS corner and saw Oda reveal tons of exciting new bits of information, but it also had the release of the latest Vivre Card packs, which, once again, was a huge source of information about many incredible things, especially pertaining to the Cross Guild and the Navy, who had a big role to play in the Egghead Island Arc.

Even more than that, Oda also decided to do a Q&A event, where he revealed the answer to 10 very intriguing questions and shocked the fans. Of course, many of these questions had cryptic information in them, and one of them pertains to a very important object that the Straw Hat Pirates might need and it certainly hints towards a major upcoming war in One Piece.
The Poneglyph Location On Pirate Island
- Law Went To The Pirate Island For A Poneglyph
- Blackbeard Has The Poneglyph Right Now
As fans know already, Poneglyphs are very important stones that carry important information. The Poneglyphs can either indicate the location of another Poneglyphs, or they can indicate the location of an Ancient Weapon. Then, there are also the historical pieces of text, which essentially tell a piece of the history from the Void Century. These are the main types of Poneglyphs that fans see in One Piece, with the rarest of them all being the Road Poneglyphs, which are red in color, and essentially point towards the location of the Final Island, Laugh Tale. As was pointed out by Big Mom pirates, there are essentially 9 Rio Poneglyphs. Each tells the ancient history, and, only by taking these Rio Poneglyph to the Final Island, that is, Laugh Tale, can the true history of the world be revealed. Much of this was directly stated by Baron Tamago in the Whole Cake Island Arc.
Thanks for helping me out during the Rocky Port Incident! – Blackbeard
With that said, fans already know that Nico Robin has a huge role to play when it comes to deciphering these texts in the future and actually wants to unveil what the Rio Poneglyph says in full. If she wants to know the full history, she needs all the 9 Rio Poneglyphs. Now, Oda did not reveal anything about specific Poneglyphs or the piece of information they carried in his Q A session, but his answers about how the Rocky Port Incident came to be certainly had an element of it that would be very interesting to all the fans. Here is what Oda had to say about the Rocky Port Incident:
Q9: Please tell us about the Rocky Port Incident that resulted in Koby being called “the Hero”.
A9: I feel like it would take too long to draw it, so I don’t think it’ll be included in the main story.
To put it simply, after hearing that there’s a poneglyph on Pirate Island, Law snuck into and hijacked a massive passenger ship called the “Rocky Port”, riding it all the way to Pirate Island. The ship was carrying the king and other important figures from a certain country.
In reality however, the ship Law boarded was a smuggling vessel which was doing business with Pirate Island under the flag of that same country, so some dangerous trouble brewed up. Law then got into conflict with the pirates. And later, Koby and Blackbeard got aboard with their respective objectives, resulting in the three fighting together.
That’s what came to be known as the incident. As the incident settled, Blackbeard became King of Pirate Island, Law joined the Royal Sea Warlords, and Koby came to be known as the “Hero”.
As was made clear by Oda, Law only went to Rocky Port because he believed there was a Poneglyph there. Law is interested in finding out the checkered fate of the world, just like Robin, and he wants to find out the true history behind the Celestial Dragons and those of the D. Law is most interested in the historical pieces, and this is one of the major reasons why he even went to the Pirate Island and caused all the chaos in the first place. While Law found this Poneglyph, the Straw Hat Pirates are far from it. In fact, invading the Pirates Island is suicide right now, and this is especially because despite the island is now ruled by none other than Yonko Blackbeard.
Do the Straw Hat Pirates Have To Visit The Pirate Island?
The Straw Hats Could Join The War At The Pirate Island Soon Enough
The latest piece of information pertaining to the Rocky Port Incident is certainly very exciting, but one thing that fans might overlook is the fact that the Rocky Port incident happened partially because of a Poneglyph that Law wanted to obtain. It is likely that he went to obtain this Poneglyph for himself, and given that he didn’t share it with Luffy, what fans know is that the Straw Hat Pirates do not have access to this Poneglyph yet. It is highly unlikely that this is a Poneglyph that tells the location of the Ancient Weapons, because the Law is not interested in that. The only Poneglyphs that Law is interested in are the ones that tell the true history of the world and are somehow related to the history of D people of the Ancient Kingdom.

One Piece: Oda Confirms The Strongest Haki User Of The Current Era
The strongest Haki user of the current era is revealed by Oda. Here’s what Oda had to say.
All that is to say that the Poneglyph is currently in possession of none other than Blackbeard. Nico Robin, who wants to reveal the full Rio Poneglyph, needs this stone if she is to ever fulfill her dream. Right now, Robin is very far from accomplishing this goal, and she will most likely not find it easy to infiltrate the Pirate Island and find out this bit of information. Robin does need to get around this somehow, which sets up a very exciting Arc.
Fans might wonder whether the Straw Hat Pirates will have to visit the Pirate Island in one way or another. This is a very exciting part of the story that could see Luffy get involved in as well. And, the answer to this question is certainly yes. There is a reason why the Straw Hats might have to visit the Pirates Island and this is when Robin could take the. Poneglyph for herself. The answer to this question lies in a major upcoming war that is going to happen on this Island, potentially destroying it for good.
Why Luffy Vs Blackbeard Will Settle The Secrets Of The Poneglyph
Luffy Will Have To Face Blackbeard Soon Enough
The reason why the Straw Hat Pirates will go to the Pirate Island is quite simple. As fans know, Blackbeard is currently the ruler of the Pirates Island. But, his plans are rather sinister. He wants to exchange Garp for country status for Pirates Island, which is something that he thinks the World Government will agree to. But, the Government will actually never accept the deal. Instead, the World Government will likely launch an all-out assault on the Pirates Island, leading to a war. The scale of this war is likely going to be very similar to the Paramount War, only this time, a pirate’s island will see Marines attack it, while previously, a Marine stronghold was attacked by Pirates.
Clearly, the Marines will be at a disadvantage in this battle, and, just like the last war, Luffy will find himself getting involved here as well. The reason why Luffy could be involved has to do with the character of Garp. Luffy’s very own grandfather, Garp, has been captured. Although Luffy could let Garp live out his own life and let other individuals rescue him, fans know that now, through Caribou, Blackbeard also knows the location of Shirahoshi and, at the same time, Pluton. These two elements could come into play and if Blackbeard successfully captures them later down the line, then Luffy will be compelled to move and join this war.
When Luffy joins, a Blackbeard versus Luffy confrontation will finally be set up, and this could be potentially where Blackbeard is defeated for good. If he is defeated, then, Robin will most likely gain access to this Poneglyph and add her to a collection before heading to Laugh Tale.
