No GTA 6 delay for now as it survives another Take-Two report

If there’s one announcement that would cause the most hysteria within the gaming community, it’d be a delay to GTA 6. Fans have been waiting well over a decade for this behemoth of a sequel, and it would be a huge blow if they had to wait any longer than they’ve already endured. As a result, Take-Two’s quarterly earnings reports have become nail-biting moments – no one wants to see its current launch window shift as it updates shareholders on its future pipeline. Thankfully, another report has been and gone without any bad news about the new Grand Theft Auto – it’s still on track.

The GTA 6 release date promises to be one of the biggest moments in gaming history, and with every day that passes, the prospect of hearing more news about the hotly anticipated open-world game increases. While there were no significant comments about GTA 6 from Take-Two leadership during today’s investor earnings call, it did reaffirm that its release window remains unchanged and is still part of its slate for the next fiscal year alongside Borderlands 4 and Mafia The Old Country.

If, like me, you’re hankering from some new GTA 6 news, the chances are that you don’t have too much longer to wait. With the confirmation today that it’s still on track and the fact that we’re fast approaching a year since the record-breaking GTA 6 reveal trailer dropped, it feels like another peep into the world of Leonida is just around the corner. If you believe this wild, Moon-based theory, then more news could arrive in a couple of weeks.

Although there wasn’t much to write home about in regards to GTA 6, today’s report does confirm that GTA 5 is still selling like hotcakes, 11 years on from its initial launch. Since its last quarterly report three months ago, it has shifted another five million units, bringing the grand total up to 205 million. Ridiculous stuff.

With all that being said, you can breathe a sigh of relief once more. GTA 6 is still set to release in “fall of Calendar 2025” according to Take-Two.
