Kingdom Two Crowns offers players a large variety of unlockables to aid players throughout their struggle against the greed. One type of these unlockables is whimsical, short-statured people called hermits. Hermits live in the forests of Two Crowns’ islands, and they unlock new types of buildings once hired with gemstones. Here are all the hermits in Kingdom Two Crowns according to their usefulness, to make sure that the player gets the best out of them.

Kingdom Two Crowns: Best Mounts, Ranked
These are all the mounts in Kingdom Two Crowns, their advantages, disadvantages, and tips about how to use them.
1 Horn Hermit
Increases Villager Mobility
Horn Hermit can be unlocked on the 5th island for 3 gemstones. They place war horns on stone or iron walls which are used to call troops to defend a particular wall for one night, or until they are dismissed by using the horn again. The horn hermit is useful for one-sided waves, such as when all the portals on one side are destroyed, but they are not very useful in larger towns as it takes a long time for troops to walk the distance.
2 Warrior Hermit
More Warriors, More Archers
Warrior Hermit is on the 4th island and costs 2 gemstones to unlock. This hermit turns archer towers into warrior towers, which allows players to hire more warriors, who form squads of four archers. Archers in squads don’t hunt during the day, so it’s a good idea to keep some archers as hunters to contribute to the kingdom’s economy. Squads are slightly better at defending walls than hunters, and if the archer shrine is active, two or more squads can quickly and easily destroy portals even without the players’ assistance.
Having more warriors can make some aspects of the game easier, but players aren’t missing out on a different gameplay mechanic if they skip this hermit and spend the gemstones somewhere else.
3 Stable Hermit
Access to Every Mount
Stable hermit can be found on the 2nd island and they are the cheapest hermit to unlock at just 1 gemstone. They turn farmhouses into stables and give players access to the mounts they’ve unlocked on other islands. Each stable building can house a maximum of 3 mounts, but multiple stables can be built, and they also continue to function as farmhouses. Switching mounts in the stables is cheaper than it is in the wild.

Kingdom Two Crowns: Best Use Of Gems
Gems are a form of currency in Kingdom Two Crowns. Here are the best things they can be used for.
Mounts have different powers and introduce a lot of new gameplay mechanics, and sometimes using a couple of them together provides a huge advantage. For example, the Unicorn generates gold but doesn’t have any combat abilities. Players can choose to use this mount during the day and switch to a mount like the Griffin or the Lizard to take on the greed.
4 Ballista Hermit
Long Range, High Damage
Ballista hermit is on the first island and costs 3 gemstones, but since there are no gemstones on this island, it can’t be unlocked right away. Players who want to unlock this hermit need to return after gathering gems on other islands. Ballista hermit turns archer towers into, as their name suggests, ballista towers. With their extremely long range and huge damage output, ballista towers make stronger waves in blood moons and the late stages of the game much easier to deal with. But players should keep in mind that they can only shoot in one direction, and place them accordingly.
It’s ideal to build these towers closer to the center plaza, where archer towers don’t have enough range to help defend the edges. This strategy effectively utilizes the ballista towers’ long range while not sacrificing the sustained damage of higher-level archer towers. Additionally, higher-level archer towers employ four archers each while the ballista is operated by a single worker, so the archers can instead become part of squads or hunt and bring gold to the kingdom.
5 Bakery Hermit
Easily Recruit Villagers
Bakery hermit is on the 3rd island and costs 4 gemstones to unlock. This hermit is the most expensive, but they deserve this price as they unlock a very useful building: the bakery. The bakery can be built on archer towers, after it is built, players can buy bread loaves for 4 gold each, which attracts vagrants and converts them into villagers. Recruiting villagers can be very time-consuming on the larger islands, and good time management is an important part of beating Two Crowns.
The bakery eliminates this hassle and allows players to focus on building, repairing, exploring, and fighting. Villagers are an essential and inescapable part of beating the game, no matter the strategy, the kingdom will always need subjects to build and fight. This makes the ability of the bakery hermit a universally useful one and earns them the top place on this list.
