How Does Saving Work in Mario and Luigi Brothership?

Mario and Luigi: Brothership kicks off with Mario and Luigi getting lost in a completely different world far from the Mushroom Kingdom. As the prologue takes a couple of minutes to get through, and no save blocks are anywhere to be seen, players might ask themselves, “How do you save in this game?” Well, here’s how to do it so that you can save your precious game progress.

How to Save in Mario and Luigi: Brothership

Luckily, there are two ways to record progress in Mario and Luigi: Brothership. The first way is via Save Blocks. These are blue blocks found throughout the world (you’ll find your first one once you meet Connie in Concordia –the block is to the left of them). You just need to stand underneath it and then press A to jump and activate the block. You’ll come across these often, so make sure to use them when you can. If you lose a battle, you can restart from your previous save point.

The other way to save your game is through the autosave system. You don’t need to worry about this, but once you get through key story moments, a swirling icon will appear in the top-right corner of the screen. This means the game is currently saving data.
