In a Reddit post, a user known as tuankid shared images of a stunning replica of Hyrule from Breath of the Wild. According to the gamer, they 3D-printed the map using a file created by Eversor on Maker World. The 3D model design featured all the major landmarks of the Kingdom of Hyrule, including Death Mountain, Hyrule Field, Great Hyrule Forest, and Mount Lanayru, to name a few. There was even the Zelda logo in the bottom left corner where the Gerudo Dessert is located. While the 3D design by Eversor was incredibly detailed, tuankid took the already amazing model and added more realism by painting it.

In the comment section, tuankid revealed acrylic paint was used in the Hyrule map project. In addition, primer was applied to the replica to prevent the paint from peeling off the 3D-printed model. This process took approximately a week to complete, and the time invested in painting the map was evident. The gamer used different shades to make the open-world of Breath of the Wild pop and give it depth. For example, the use of darker greens helped the Great Hyrule Forest stand out, while the blues highlighted the waterways that snaked their way through Hyrule.

The response to the map replica on Reddit has been overwhelmingly positive, with the post gaining more than 3.9K upvotes. In the comment section, many fans wanted to print a copy of the map for themselves. Fortunately, tuankid revealed the model file from Eversor was free to download. In addition, some gamers complimented tuankid on their stunning paint job that enhanced the beauty of the 3D-printed replica.

It is worth noting that other fans have 3D-printed impressive maps of Hyrule. For example, another gamer’s dad previously 3D printed a replica of Zelda: Link to the Past’s map, showing a three-dimensional layout of the classic SNES game. With Echoes of Wisdom now released, it will be interesting to see if similar fan art of its map will appear online as well.
