This upcoming season will have huge implications for Black Ops 6‘s Zombies and even Warzone, with a lot of attention also being placed on the core multiplayer experience of the title. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Season One Maps Might Be Just What the Game Needs

Season one of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch on November 14, kicking off the title’s battle pass content, bringing BO6 weapons and movement to Warzone, and even introducing a brand-new Zombies map. As well as this, some new party game modes are expected to drop throughout season one, with three new core multiplayer maps already being the center of a lot of attention.

One of these maps is Extraction, an unusually open experience set within a coastal heliport. As well as its ambitious open spaces that will be perfect for long-range combat, it seems that Extraction still features a lot of verticality in its scattered buildings that encourage the close-quarters combat that Black Ops 6 is already becoming known for. It is confirmed that Extraction is set within Black Ops 6‘s fictional city-state of Avalon, meaning that the location may even feature as a POI in the large-scale Avalon map that is rumored to come to Warzone in the near future.

Black Ops 6’s Season One Maps Continue the Small Map Trend

Next, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce the Heirloom map in season one, also taking place in Avalon. In contrast to the open space of Extraction, Heirloom is set within the twisting corridors of an art gallery, offering intense close-range engagements that will be more of a match for Black Ops 6‘s shotguns and recently-buffed SMGs. While some exhibitions and hallways might offer strong angles for more powerful ranged weapons, it seems that Heirloom might be one of Black Ops 6‘s most chaotic maps to date.

Lastly, season one of Black Ops 6 will also see the addition of the Hideout map. Hideout is another smaller experience in BO6‘s map pool, taking place in and around a makeshift base of operations in a derelict compound of buildings. It seems that Hideout follows Call of Duty‘s traditional three-laned approach to maps, making it unique compared to the likes of Extraction and Heirloom, and offering a fair blend of experiences within season one overall.

The launch map pool of Black Ops 6 has already faced criticism due to its lack of three-lane structure and the small size of most of its involved locations, and it seems that Hideout and Heirloom are continuing this trend of smaller scale. With that being said, Black Ops 6 is starting off its post-launch seasons strong with three brand-new maps, meaning the game will hopefully boast a massive variety of experiences as these seasons go on.
