Sonic Generations slammed two eras of Sonic together when it was first released more than a decade ago and its remaster is the best-looking version of the game to date. The Shadow half of the game is even better than the OG Sonic game in my humble opinion too, and I’m not the only one who thinks that. If you have a Sonic fan in your life who doesn’t own this game already, then picking up a copy for themthis Christmas is a no-brainer.

The original Sonic Lego set based on the original Sonic level. The Blue Blur’s first Lego set has been modeled after Green Hill Zone and has even been designed to look the way the level did in all of its original sidescrolling glory.

Sonic’s Ring Scatter Funko Pop! captures the moment from the original series of games when colliding with an enemy would result in the blue blur losing his rings. Knocked backwards through the air, forced to quickly get up and pick up any surviving rings.

Sonic and his friends have been turned into a lot of Funko Pops over the past year, but this one might well be the best of them. It’s definitely the best one starring Sonic rather than one of his buddies. Rather than just having the character stand there, as is the case for most Funko Pop designs, the Ring Scatter figure showcases the hedgehog the way he looks right after he has been struck by an enemy.
Since Funko Sonic ideally needs to look like he’s in mid-air for this Pop design to be at its best, its creators needed to get inventive with it, and they nailed the assignment. The figure is being held up by the rings that have been knocked out of it, and a closer look shows there’s a small transparent stand holding him up too. Perhaps this will be someone’s first Funko Pop that kicks off a new collection they can add Sonic’s next figure to, releasing in 2025 and featuring a Hero Chao Bitty Pop buddy.

PDP’s REALMz controllers are officially licensed and each contains a collectible figurine. The Sonic one has the hedgehog in the left grip and a Green Hill Zone motif across the rest of the controller.

PDP has a range of controllers with little action figures encased inside of them, and it was Sonic and a few other characters from the series that started it all. Well, technically the OG Sonic Realmz controllers were revealed alongside Pikmin and Transformers designs, but Sonic’s controllers are at the range’s core and other characters have joined it since, the latest being Shadow who got a controller of his own to coincide with the launch of Sonic x Shadow Generations.
The Sonic controller remains the best one though, particularly if you’re on the hunt for the perfect gift for a Sonic fan. The design pictured above is the Nintendo Switch version of the controller, but there is a slightly different version that’s compatible with Xbox too. You can also choose between wireless and wired options, the latter reducing the price of the controller significantly if you’re sure the recipient won’t mind being tethered to their console.
