Building a theme park in Planet Coaster 2 can be exciting, especially when there are added challenges in each scenario. From building a park on the mountains to helping another pay off their loans, you can come up with endless solutions to solve any problem.
Your goal in this scenario is to build a park in the middle of the forest without devastating the natural environment. Using only solar power and wooden coasters, can you make a thriving amusement park? We’ll walk you through every step to make that dream a reality! Here’s everything you need to know to complete the Just The Thicket scenario.
Bronze Objectives
When you first arrive in the park, the Foundation wants to maintain the natural appearance of the park while still drawing in guests. You’ll need to balance innovation and eco-friendly materials to create a thriving amusement park.
Hire Staff
Your first steps are to hire new employees to help the park function. For this, you’re required to hire a janitor and a mechanic. Both of these can be found in the staff tab.
Select these staff members and drop them into the park. It’s recommended to hire multiple of each as your park grows, but you only need one of each to complete the objective.
Build A Workshop
After hiring your first employees, it’s time to build a workshop facility. This structure will help generate research points you can use to unlock more rides and modes of transportation for your park.
You’ll find the workshop listed in the staff facilities section of the building menu. Place it anywhere you like and open it to hire a mechanic assigned to perform the research.
Construct A Wooden Coaster
The final step to earning the bronze badge is to build a wooden coaster to highlight the natural beauty of the park. You can create a custom coaster or you can place down a premade one, like Splintery.
Make sure to have a power distributor within range so that the coaster has power! It can be tricky to find a good place for your first coaster in this part, but the central clearing and the shore are good places to start.
Silver Objectives
After opening your first coaster, it’s time to work on your park some more. There’s plenty to be done, from expanding the grounds to making guests more comfortable. Here’s everything you need to do to unlock the silver badge for your efforts.
Build New Facilities
While you have places for staff, it’s important that your guests have a place to eat and drink. Your task is to place a food shop, then a drink shop, in the park. Once those two places are open and running, you’ll also want to place a restroom nearby so guests can easily access it.
Try adding some scenery to decorate the space and make your guests more comfortable!
Expand The Park
Now that your guests are comfortable, it’s time to purchase some more land to build on. A growing park needs a lot of space, especially if you want to have room to observe the land’s natural beauty.
You may have to wait until more money rolls in before you can purchase a new plot!
Open the park expansion menu and survey the land around your park. Pick the parcel you like most (or that you can afford) and purchase it. Now you have more room to expand your enterprise and build even better coasters and attractions!
Add Two Flat Rides And A Cable Car
With this new land, your next objective is to build two new flat rides. These can be any ride, but variety is usually your best friend when it comes to your park rating. Place the rides wherever you like, power them up, and let the guests enjoy them!
After the rides are running, the final step for the silver badge is to create a cable car ride. This ride can be found in the transportation section, and you can place multiple stops to transport guests across the entire park.
You can edit the cable car later as your park expands to include more stops!
Create the ride, open it to guests, and collect your silver badge for sustainability!
Gold Objectives
Now that there’s a way to move around the park quickly, it’s time to focus on thrills. From flat rides to coasters, there’s an attraction for everyone!
Adding More Flat Rides
Open up your flat rides menu again and search for two new attractions. While they can be duplicates, you’ll save yourself some time by increasing your park rating with a diverse selection of rides.
Place down these rides where you like, preferably somewhere the cable car can reach, then open them up for guests to queue for.
Building A New Coaster
With your new flat rides operational, it’s time to build a new coaster. While the foundation would prefer another wooden coaster, you’re free to design what you’d like.
Building a new coaster, whether complex or simple, will reward you with the gold badge upon opening!
Platinum Objectives
The final stretch of this scenario involves making your park even bigger and increasing the value for your guests. It’s not enough to have a large and expansive park, as you’ll need to have guests keep coming back.
Expand The Park
Return to the park expansion menu and purchase another plot of land. This will help you clear enough space to include more rides, attractions, and shops for your guests to enjoy.
Purchasing this last plot will grant you full access to the area for the Just The Thicket scenario. The possibilities are limitless, which is good because your next objective is a bit lofty.
While previous scenarios have asked you to meet similar goals, this one doesn’t fully prepare you to tackle it without a good amount of extra work!
Increase Your Park Rating
Following the expansion of your park, you’ll need to have your ranking exceed four and a half stars. Your park rating is made up of several factors, including the overall thoughts of your guests and the variety of rides available.
When in doubt, you can add pools to increase variety and lower prices to encourage better feedback from your guests. Hire enough employees to keep guests entertained and rides maintained so there are no gaps.
You can check on your rating at any time to see what needs work!
After you reach four and a half stars, you’ll receive the platinum badge from the Foundation for creating a thriving, sustainable theme park.
