Proxies in Zenless Zone Zero overlooked the power of Anomaly when the game was first released, as the stars of the show were Ellen and Zhu Yuan. However, afterward, with the debut of three Anomaly characters back-to-back, Jane Doe, Burnice, and Yanagi, more players start to understand the power Anomaly Agents have.
Although all Anomaly Agents’ role is to buildup Anomaly and trigger the effect, each has their own unique mechanics. For example, Burnice can quickly Burn enemies and further buildup Fire Anomaly off-field, whereas Yanagi can trigger Disorder without replacing the current Anomaly debuff. Her Additional Ability works with characters of the same Attribute or an Anomaly specialist, which means Yanagi team comp in ZZZ doesn’t revolve around her Section 6 faction.

Zenless Zone Zero: Character Tier List
Here’s how every Agent in Zenless Zone Zero fares when compared to each other in their ZZZ character tier list.
3 Yanagi + Koleda + Grace
The first Yanagi team comp is for players who aren’t very lucky with the featured banner. Yanagi can be played with Koleda and Grace; Koleda spends most of the field time Stunning enemies, then Grace will build up Shock quickly for Yanagi to trigger Disorder.
This team emphasizes on Yanagi’s ability to play as a quick swap DPS whose job is mainly to trigger her special Disorder. The Deputy Chief can easily buildup Anomaly with her EX Special Attack, so keeping her off-field to regain Energy is ideal. If Proxies don’t have Koleda, then Rina is a viable replacement from the standard banner.
2 Yanagi + Jane Doe + Rina
Rina lengthens the duration of Shock Anomaly, making her a brilliant support for Electric Anomaly characters like Grace and Yanagi. However, one of her biggest shortcomings is that her buff only lasts for six seconds, requiring players to constantly refresh it.
Thankfully, in this Yanagi team comp in ZZZ, the time restriction doesn’t matter as both Yanagi and Jane Doe can be swapped around to build Physical and Electric Anomaly simultaneously. It’s best to build Electric Anomaly with Yanagi’s Basic Attack, trigger Shock Disorder with Jane, then trigger Assault Disorder with Yanagi’s EX Special Attack. This way, players can make the most out of Rina, Yanagi, and Jane Doe at the same time.
If Rina is unavailable, players can also use Seth or Qingyi. This will greatly alter the playstyle, however, as the two have different roles than Rina. Seth is a Defense-Anomaly buffer; if players choose to play Seth, then he should be positioned after the Agent that he should buff. For example, if Proxies wish to focus on Yanagi’s damage, then put Yanagi > Seth. But if Jane Doe is the star of the ZZZ team comp, then put Jane Doe > Seth > Yanagi.
Meanwhile, if Yanagi is paired with Qingyi, then the playstyle will be closer to the Yanagi + Koleda + Grace team, where Qingyi will spend most of the field time stunning enemies, while Jane Doe and Yanagi capitalize on the enemy’s Stunned multipliers.
1 Yanagi + Caesar + Burnice
Sons of Calydon fans can also pair Yanagi with the Caesar + Burnice duo. Caesar is a brilliant support and buffer, perfect for a team that needs a simple ATK buff like Anomaly team comp in ZZZ. Both Burnice and Yanagi will act as quick swap DPS, with Yanagi taking more field time than the Nitro-Fuel girl.
If Caesar and Burnice are unavailable, players can also go on a budget team with Lucy + Piper. Lucy will be the team’s buffer, while Piper is the second Anomaly to trigger Assault to enemies.
