During the final month of Metaphor: ReFantazio, you will be given a long stretch of free time along with many new activities to do to get your party ready for the final battle. While your main objective will be to complete the Dragon Trials to get strong, there are many new side quests that became available in previous cities throughout the world.
One of these side quests is Deliver Hot Spring Water, which is given by the Gentle Merchant in Altabury. While this side quest may seem like a very odd request, while also a joke at real-world events, its rewards can make this quest well worth the effort.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – When Is The Point Of No Return
Metaphor: ReFantazio has a lot of free time to use, but when is the last playable day before the point of no return?
To complete this quest, all you need to do is find the Hot Spring and bathe in it. The Hot Spring in Altabury is found on the lower level of Blue Sky Bridge, and it is only open at night. During the day, the icon for the Hot Spring does not appear, so start from the Gentle Merchant at night, and turn around. Behind her is a staircase that loops around as it heads to the lower section.
Halfway to the magic shop will be a cave with wooden support beams, with an icon that is a question mark in the Royal Virtue crown. Approach the Hot Spring and choose to spend time there to have the empty vial be filled automatically for the quest. While you are in the Hot Spring you’ll get three dialogue options:
- Bear with it.
- Find a cooler spot.
- Surrender to the heat.
It doesn’t matter what choice you make, you’ll get a random amount of Magla for spending time in the Hot Spring, on top of the filled vial to get the rewards for the quest. You’ll also get a Hero’s Fruit for spending time in the Hot Spring. To complete the quest, return to the Gentle Merchant any following day to turn in vial and complete the request. The final questions the merchant asks will have no outcome on the quest or rewards you get.
Rewards For Deliver Hot Spring Water In Metaphor: ReFantazio
Finishing this quest will give you a Gold Beetle, Almight Panacea, and The Prince’s Serene Embrace. An Almighty Panacea cures all status ailments on all party members, which is very useful against many of the late-game bosses. The Prince’s Serene Embrace is a unique Bath Salt that can be used on the Gauntlet Runner at night to increase the protagonist’s max MP by two.
