Episode 4 of Dragon Ball DAIMA introduced a number of interesting new concepts endemic to the Demon Realm, a region of the Dragon Ball omniverse that has barely been explored in the canon until now. The introduction of various kinds of Medi-Bug added some exciting possibilities, and as Goku and the Supreme Kai’s journey into the mysterious setting of this new series continue, we will get a better sense of the advantages of these curious items.
The Revive Bugs, with their purported ability to restore stamina when consumed, were compared to the highly plot significant magic beans grown only on Korin’s Tower, the Senzu. What exactly are Revive Bugs, and is Goku’s comparison of them to Senzu an apt one?

What Are Medi-Bugs?
Dragon Ball DAIMA’s Status-Altering Consumables
When Supreme Kai, Goku and Glorio come across a little shop located in the Third Demon World, they find a number of strange and interesting items in store, among them, strange bugs of different shapes and colors called Medi-Bugs. When consumed, Medi-Bugs have a variety of medical effects, including relief from headaches from Zutsu Bugs; relief from burns from the Achichi Bugs; and the Revive Bugs, which restore stamina. Goku himself said that this effect is like the Senzu that the Dragon Fighters have relied on to revive downed allies throughout the course of the franchise. Senzu are rare beans grown only on Korin’s Tower, and near-instantly restore a fighter’s physical condition when eaten, making them very important to have in battle.
Senzu restore ki, health, stamina and are so nourishing, they can keep a person full for several days. They are capable of curing all kinds of poisoning, and are potent enough to facilitate the regeneration of damaged organs, and even limbs if administered soon enough. They are incapable of healing old wounds that have already scarred, so the removed tails of Saiyans do not return. They have been shown to restore fighters on the verge of death many times over the course of the series, but their rarity and difficulty to grow is a major difference to the Revive Bugs, which appear to be abundant. The full abilities of the Revive Bugs have not yet been explained, since they are yet to be used in Dragon Ball DAIMA, but it would be highly advantageous to Goku and his friends if they were just as effective as the Senzu. The existence of Achichi Bugs and Zutsu Bugs may, however, be a clue as to what the Revive Bugs can and can’t do, as it’s possible that Revive Bugs can’t deal with the issues associated with the aforementioned Medi-Bugs.
