The LincPlus LincStudio S1 is positioned as a drawing tablet, but it’s so much more than that. LincPlus has designed the LincStudio S1 to be a versatile handheld PC that offers some useful features for quick app access and customization with a pretty powerful set of specs under the hood.
Right off the bat, I was impressed by the LincPlus LincStudio S1’s 13-inch 2K touchscreen. It’s vibrant and clear, and everything you want for both bringing your artistic creations to life or browsing the Internet on a lazy Sunday. As mentioned, this is a drawing tablet first and foremost, but gamers and tech enthusiasts won’t find themselves bound by that selling point.
The LincPlus LincStudio S1 ships with a keyboard that attaches to the tablet – it features both a USB 3.0 A port and 2 USB-C ports, speakers on the left and right, and a 3.5mm audio jack. I found it to be incredibly useful for keeping in my lap and typing up some quick notes or propping up on a table to watch a YouTube video. With an Intel i7 4.7 GHz max frequency chip under the hood, the LincPlus tablet is snappy and responsive. You can quickly jump between apps and navigate Windows 11 without any chugging or noticeable slowdown.
Where the LincPlus LincStudio S1 pushes itself ahead of the curve is with its drawing and note-taking tablet functionality. The device comes with an EMR stylus pen that works seamlessly with the tablet’s display. In my testing, I found it to be highly accurate, with no weird disconnects when trying to write/draw a straight line, and there was no apparent latency. I could quickly write a note or sketch out an idea without any issues.
LincPlus has also designed the LincStudio S1 with a set of 12 shortcut buttons (6 on the left and 6 on the right) to give you quick access to your favorite apps. For graphic designers and artists, the shortcut keys will allow you to jump from Photoshop for image editing to ProCreate for drawing, but the options are endless.
LincPlus LincStudio S1 is truly a winner when it comes to design and functionality.
Another nice touch in the LincPlus LincStudio S1’s design are the two “grips” between the shortcut buttons. Oftentimes, tablets go for that clean, bezel-less design so that they don’t distract users while watching a movie or reading a book. But for this tablet and its focus on being an all-in-one option that appeals to artists, it’s nice to have a place to hold the device and steady it while using the stylus. However, if you do prefer to work on a steady surface, the LincPlus LincStudio S1 is built with a full-width kickstand that can prop up the tablet at a variety of angles, or LincPlus includes a stand with different viewing angles in the box.
Outside of high-end gaming, the LincPlus LincStudio S1 really lives up to its all-in-one billing. The display has incredible color reproduction, which is essential for artists but an added bonus for Internet browsing and movie watching. An Intel i7 chip ensures that there isn’t any noticeable lag when jumping between apps or using those shortcut buttons to access your favorite software. The included stylus is an impressive tool, and the keyboard is a nice accessory for more technical work. And the design of the LincPlus LincStudio S1 is thoughtful regardless of who is using the device.
In an industry that is dominated by a few names, LincPlus has impressed me with the LincStudio S1, not just because this seems like a device that a lot of artists will appreciate, but also because it didn’t skimp on adding features that would benefit more casual tablet use. It’s a smart device that meets a lot of needs and then some.
