The best tools you can get are Gold tools. You will need to earn a lot of money in order to even think about crafting tool upgrades, though. Below you will find each tool kit available in the game and how to acquire everything you need.

The first thing you want to do is locate a blacksmith. There is a blacksmith in south Brightoak, where the houses begin to look brown. Here, you will find the blacksmith sells tool kit upgrades. The prices are very high and not so accessible at the start of the game.

Upgrading your tools increases the efficiency of that item per upgrade.

Ores can be found in different regions. Iron rock deposits are found in Murkwater Marsh. Put ore in a Furnace to smelt them into bars.
