How to Level Up Fast in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

How to Level Up Fast in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

As in most semi-linear RPGs, leveling up in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will take quite a while. Battling Fade demons, Darkspawn, and all other sorts of nastiness can only go so far, and if you want your Rook in peak condition, you’ll need to put some effort in.

Naturally, you’ll level up just by playing through the game, but if you want to get as much XP as you can to reach the max level in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there are a couple of things you can do on the side. You won’t exactly be power-leveling your character with these methods, but it’s better than nothing.

Best Way to Level Up in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Starting a sidequest in DA:V

The absolute best way to level up is to continue the main campaign of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Story missions often reward thousands of XP, and early on, this is enough to level you up twice or even three times, depending on how much XP you have and need.

Campaign missions are usually long, and if your goal is to level up before tackling any main quests, then this would be a counter-intuitive source of XP. Your next best bet is to complete side quests. After you unlock an area like Mintharous or Treviso for exploration, you should be able to find some NPCs or events that give quests you can do on the side. They don’t reward as much XP as main quests, but they often lead to loot, money, and resources.

Side quests are especially good if you’re planning on increasing a faction’s strength level in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Doing so will let you upgrade faction merchants, giving you access to better gear. Many side quests also reward you with weapons, armor, and accessories, or point you towards locations that contain such items.

How to Farm XP in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Farming XP in DA:V

If you really want to grind for XP, then you can try farming enemies in open maps. Roam around a region and defeat any enemies you find. Then, once you’re sure they’re all gone, fast travel to a different map, then fast travel back to your farming spot. This will cause all enemies in that map to respawn. However, the enemies will likely be in different locations, and there’s a chance that the ones that do spawn won’t be the same as those you fought before.

Take note that this is a very slow process. Defeating enemies reward little XP, and this is best done if you want to get those last few XP points to reach the next level without doing a quest. It’s great if you’re looking around for secrets in areas like the tattered bridge in Arlathan, but if you want to go from 0 to 100 percent XP, you’re better off doing quests instead.
