Help Elio search for the missing Veil Jumpers.

Davrin’s companion quest brings you back to one of the most important moments in the game thus far, giving you a bleak picture to behold. While the sinister blights surrounding you paint an ominous scene, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, with the chance for you to salvage the little you can from this tragedy.

How To Find Isseya

Your journey starts at the Grey Hold, where you can begin investigating your leads on Isseya, the Gloom Howler who kidnapped the remaining 12 griffons in Thedas.

Follow your marker to the designated spot and choose your party member to accompany Davrin, who is required.

You can bring someone like Taash if you prefer to double down on damage or opt for a support mage option like Neve or Bellara.

After the cutscene, descend into the Deep Roads, where you’ll search for the missing griffons.

Take the elevator down from the Lotus Cave to the Dark Waters Gate House, where you’ll trigger a conversation with a Blighted Warden.

Isseya is briefly mentioned, but the conversation turns hostile quickly, as the Blighted warden, Na-Than, attacks you.

Yes, unfortunately, it is a play on “Nathan.”

Na-Than is weak to Fire and resists Necrotic damage, so Taash is a massive help if you opt to bring her along, but this fight should be a breeze either way.

Head through the marked door to the Broken Shoreline and descend further into the Deep Roads.

Fight the Corrupted Wardens and Ghouls (both weak to Fire and resist Necrotic) along the shore and cross the bridge to fight more darkspawn forces.

Progress into the Profane City Approach and continue along the path through the broken remains of Weisshaupt, where more darkspawn are waiting.

Make sure to destroy all the Blight Boils on the ground around the arena to prevent enemies from respawning.

Destroy the first Blight Boil at the top of the wooden scaffolding, then a second one above the floor to make the last Blight Boil in the doorway vulnerable.

Head inside where you’ll be reunited with an old friend: the First Warden.

After Davrin makes his choice and the scene ends, you can progress to the Blight Boil bridge, which will collapse immediately after you step on it.

After you fall below, head underground to the Darkspawn Dungeons, where you’ll need to fight your way out by hitting Blight Boils along the way.

Keep following your marker through the carnage until you reach a large Blight Boil which opens the way to Garahel’s Point.

It’s time to break into Isseya’s lair, so use Assan’s ability on the Blight Abscess to make it vulnerable, then destroy it to expose a ladder you can climb.

In the next open area, you’ll encounter several more darkspawn to fight, along with four marked Blight Boils to destroy before you can access Isseya’s lair.

Once the final darkspawn goes down and the boils are destroyed, you can enter the Profane Library and confront the Gloom Howler.

How To Defeat Isseya

Follow the intestine-like tubes to find the vulnerable Blight Boils on either side of the room, destroying them to disrupt Isseya’s ritual.

Isseya is weak to Fire and resists Necrotic damage.

Erase Isseya’s barrier shield using your skills, then focus on weakening and applying burning stacks to keep your damage ticking.

When she’s at about 75 percent HP, Isseya will retreat and spawn more Blight Boils for you to destroy. Clear them out along with the new group of darkspawn to disrupt the ritual for the second time.

Once Isseya is vulnerable, repeat your strategy of applying burning stacks and using your skills to lock the Gloom Howler in place, as she will fly around the arena evasively if you don’t.

At 50 percent HP, Isseya enters her third phase by leaving the room. Follow her through the hole in the wall to reach the next area of the fight.

When you enter the next room, destroy all the new Blight Boils (and darkspawn), you find to make Isseya vulnerable again.

Once Isseya is vulnerable, you can focus on attacking her, but don’t give her time to breathe, or she’ll summon a barrier to protect herself.

Once Isseya goes down, you’ll have a final conversation with this blighted warden and conclude the quest.

What Rewards Do You Get From The Profane And The Lost?

Enjoy one last conversation then claim the following rewards:

  • 4,000 XP
  • 400 Gold
  • +100 Veil Jumpers Strength
  • Increased bonds with your companions

Completing Davrin’s final companion quest will also reward him with some upgrades, including the Battlemaster and Wildwood Benefactor skills.

Davrin also receives an upgrade to his armor of the same name (as all companions receive when you finish their quest)

This upgraded Wildwood Benefactor armor deals Stagger damage to all enemies by detonating Staggered enemies. Plus, the Stagger from the detonation is increased by ten percent per enemy.
