Genshin Impact Reveals Major Quality of Life Features for Version 5.2

Genshin Impact Reveals Major Quality of Life Features for Version 5.2

Key Takeaways

  • Genshin Impact Version 5.2 will allow players to favorite and lock 5-Star Artifacts, preventing them from being destroyed when used as material.
  • Elemental Reactions will also receive hefty damage buffs.
  • Version 5.2 of Genshin Impact is expected to launch on November 20, 2024.

The latest developer blog post for Genshin Impact highlights the new quality-of-life features for Artifacts and announces major changes coming to Elemental Reactions in Version 5.2. While Genshin Impact has never shied away from expanding its gameplay, it wasn’t until the Fontaine era that HoYoverse made a pivot towards adding meaningful quality-of-life features on a regular basis. This trend continued in Natlan, as Version 5.0 made several changes to Genshin Impact‘s gacha system and Battle Pass.

Version 5.1 followed up by making major improvements to the Imaginarium Theater and Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact, allowing players to have a much smoother experience in both game modes. Though the Artifact system was given plenty of attention by the developers, it still remains one of the clunkier parts of Genshin Impact, as players often find themselves juggling hundreds of Artifacts in an attempt to build their chosen character.

Genshin Impact’s Version 5.3 Citlali Leaks are Long Overdue

Leaks suggest that a new character coming in Genshin Impact’s 5.3 update could be the key to finally ending a year-long controversial trend.

According to the Developers Discussion for November 6, 2024, Version 5.2 will attempt to tackle the biggest frustration that players have with the Artifact system in Genshin Impact. Not all 5-Star Artifacts are made equal, and most rolls tend to be undesirable. As such, Version 5.2 is adding a way for Genshin Impact players to lock 5-Star Artifacts, thus preventing them from being destroyed when used as material. On top of this new feature, players will also be able to mark Artifacts as favorites, putting them at the top of the inventory. Elemental Reactions in Version 5.2 are also receiving a major overhaul, albeit one focused entirely on numbers.

Changes to Elemental Reaction Damage in Genshin Impact Version 5.2

  • Superconduct deals 200% increased damage.
  • Shatter deals 100% increased damage.
  • Electro-Charged deals 66.7% increased damage.
  • Overload deals 37.5% increased damage.

It’s no secret that Cryo in Genshin Impact was left behind in favor of Dendro, Geo, and Anemo teams. While Wriothesley bought the developers some time when he made his debut in Version 4.1, the community believes that more radical changes are needed for the Cryo element as a whole. The answer in Version 5.2 may not provide the solution outright, but by dramatically buffing Elemental Reactions such as Superconduct and Shatter, it paves the way for future characters to propel Cryo back into the meta.

Version 5.2 is expected to launch on November 20, 2024, and players can find out more about the quality-of-life changes during Genshin Impact‘s Special Program livestream. The update will introduce two new playable characters in Chasca and Ororon, with both of them being Bow characters. Chasca is expected to be an Anemo hypercarry, while Ororon is set to focus on the Electro-Charged reaction.
