The latest developer blog post for Genshin Impact highlights the new quality-of-life features for Artifacts and announces major changes coming to Elemental Reactions in Version 5.2. Leaks suggest that a new character coming in Genshin Impact’s 5.3 update could be the key to finally ending a year-long controversial trend.

According to the Developers Discussion for November 6, 2024, Version 5.2 will attempt to tackle the biggest frustration that players have with the Artifact system in Genshin Impact. Not all 5-Star Artifacts are made equal, and most rolls tend to be undesirable. As such, Version 5.2 is adding a way for Genshin Impact players to lock 5-Star Artifacts, thus preventing them from being destroyed when used as material. On top of this new feature, players will also be able to mark Artifacts as favorites, putting them at the top of the inventory. Elemental Reactions in Version 5.2 are also receiving a major overhaul, albeit one focused entirely on numbers.
