Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has quite a few maps thrown in it, and these maps all have quite a bit of personality and variance throughout. You’ll never be on one map and confuse it for another, with all of them having very different layouts.

Because all of these maps are so different, some players will vastly prefer one map to another. There don’t seem to be any maps in Black Ops 6 that are flat-out bad, but they all truly have their own flow to them, and some playstyles are going to thrive on some and meet bitter ends on others.
These maps aren’t listed in any particular order, but are simply ten of the best maps in Black Ops 6.

Derelict
West Virginia, 5/14/1991
Derelict is one of the maps that was included in the Black Ops 6 beta, and it’s easy to see why they wanted to include it as part of the first impression for the game. It’s a good map, with several different engagement situations in a fairly tight space.
Train cars create long, narrow shooting lanes, there’s high ground to fight for that’s going to get you good sightlines but make you a prime target, and there is an abundance of flanking opportunities, particularly for a map that’s got such defined lanes.

Nuketown
Nevada, 11/9/1991
What else needs to be said about this absolute classic? It wouldn’t feel right to have a Black Ops without Nuketown, and for good reason. Nuketown manages to be a very small map without being one of those maps that feels like you’re fighting in a broom closet.
Interiors, exteriors, streets, and multiple buildings, Nuketown has everything you could want, all wrapped up in that unique aesthetic that some of the Fallout games have also borrowed from.

Payback
Bulgaria, 3/4/1991
One of the greenest maps in the game, Payback mixes interiors and exteriors extremely well. It has multiple paths across the house, the right amount of windows looking inside and outside, and an exterior section alongside it.

Payback has some flanking opportunities present, and that upstairs section of the building will be hotly contested throughout the match. It’s one of those rare maps that feels good on any game mode, too, meaning you’re always happy to see it come around.

Red Card
Avalon, 6/8/1991
Red Card can, occasionally, be an immensely frustrating map to play on. The enemy team can, at times, lock down entire sections of the map from long sightlines with ease, forcing you into a kill box that their teammates’ have set up somewhere else.
But, when the right match comes along, Red Card is an exhilarating back-and-forth unlike any other. It’s one of the largest maps in the game even without the big negative space in the center, and it has a lot of little intricacies to learn.

Rewind
West Virgina, 5/5/1991
Another map that can swing wildly both ways, Rewind can be a great time or a particularly memorable bad time, but it’s usually a bit less dramatic than Red Card can be. Rewind works particularly well on modes like Hardpoint, where it focuses everybody into a central objective, compared to modes like Team Deathmatch.
Rewind has a lot going for it aesthetically and mixes in a ton of variance in very condensed spaces, making for something that almost feels like three separate maps smashed together into one. It can reward any playstyle, provided you’ve spent some time on the map.

SCUD
Iraq, 3/18/1991
SCUD is one of the maps with the most exterior area overall, but still manages to be more than just a sniper-fest with well-placed cover. This allows a smart player to move anywhere on the map without being on someone’s hard-scope, if they know what they’re doing.
This does mean that Scorestreaks, like Helicopters, are going to be particularly powerful here because there are limited options for avoiding them. Still, it’s a map that feels good on any game mode and doesn’t generally have a problem with spawn-killing.

Skyline
Avalon, 8/23/1991
Skyline is one of the most popular maps in Black Ops 6, and has an excellent flow to it, despite its confined nature. Most of the map is interior, but still has a good combination of long and short sightlines, with ceilings that aren’t always right above your head.

Skyline can be a bit more confining in modes like Domination, where strict lines in the sand are drawn, and not much movement happens from start to finish. But on other modes, Skyline brings you across the map into different sections, each with its own personality.

Subsonic
Iraq, 3/18/1991
Subsonic is one of the most chaotic maps, with some of the highest kill and death counts in the game. But, it still manages to have a variance in situations, with certain sections turning into killboxes and others with some contested sightlines.
The hangar section of Subsonic is where there’s going to be maximum chaos. There are a lot of different places an enemy could be, and it’s going to be impossible to keep it locked down throughout the match. The exterior is a bit more fluid, and you’re likely going to be moving inside and outside throughout.

Vault
Iraq, 3/10/1991
Vault feels similar to a beefed-up version of Babylon, with a square building in the center and a ring around it. Vault has more going for it, though, with plenty of intricacies inside and out, making for a map with quite a bit of depth.
Vault plays wildly differently across the different modes but still manages to be fun in objective and kill-focused modes. Any playstyle is viable here, and it’s a great place to experiment with new weapons.

Vorkuta
Soviet Union, 3/6/1991
Possibly the best map in the game, Vorkuta has great atmosphere and a great layout, both. It has some of the most height variance of any map in Black Ops 6, but doesn’t have a problem with those high sightlines locking down the map.
There are a plethora of routes to get anywhere you’d like, and it’s a map that rewards good use of the Ghost and Ninja perks, with plenty of opportunities for creative flanks that swing the match in your favor.
