All Collection Keys in Sunset Heights in Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sunset Heights is the fourth level in Shadow’s Story in Sonic X Shadow Generations. Despite its origin in the rather unpopular Sonic Forces, Sunset Heights is a beautifully designed stage with a multitude of paths to take and secrets to uncover.

Sonic X Shadow Generations‘ version of Sunset Heights also hides a total of 18 Collection Keys for players to find. Tracking these down is crucial to unlocking music, artwork, and pieces of Shadow’s Story, so this guide will explain how to find every last key.

All Collection Keys in Sunset Heights – Act 1 in Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sunset Heights Act 1 is a pretty straightforward level at first glance, though it has several secret paths if you make creative use of Shadow’s abilities. This section will explain how to find all three Collection Keys here.

How to Get the Green Collection Key

The first Collection Key in Sunset Heights Act 1 is found in the section shown in image 1. Head over to the raised area where the two cannon robots are standing, but don’t take out the one on the left. This is very important. The one on the left is firing its cannonballs up to a raised area that is pretty hard to reach, so you’ll need to use Shadow’s Homing attack to warp up to one of the cannonballs when it’s near the raised section and land there. The Green Collection Key is here, along with a Boost Ring to launch you back onto the main path.

How to Get the Yellow Collection Key

The next Collection Key is found in the section shown in image 1. You’ll need to use Chaos Control to freeze one of the boulders the Death Egg Robot is throwing in the position shown, then use a homing attack on it to get up to the road. Follow it and use the ramp at the end to launch yourself to the Yellow Collection Key.

How to Get the Blue Collection Key

The final Collection Key is found in the underground section shown in image 1. Head down the tunnel on the right, repeatedly using Doom Spears to fend off the Black Arms enemy until you reach the spot shown in Image 2 and stun the enemy with Doom Spears. Once it’s stunned, launch it with Doom Blast and aim it as shown in Image 3 to break through a wall and reach a hidden section containing the Blue Collection Key.

Sunset Heights Act 2 is a tricky 2D act with a bunch of alternate paths through each section, so here’s how to find the three collection keys it hides.

How to Get the Yellow Collection Key

To get the first Collection Key in Act 2, proceed through the level normally until you reach the spot shown in image 1 above (after a Death Egg Robot blows up a bunch of platforms, and you land in some water.) Homing Attack the line of flying enemies to launch through all of them in a chain homing attack (similar to how Shadow handled them back in Sonic Forces), then homing attack the next line, and the next after that, to launch Shadow to an upper path (Image 2). The Yellow Collection Key is floating here, and you’ll probably grab it by accident just by performing the chain homing attacks to get up here.

How to Get the Green Collection Key

The next Collection Key is an easy one. Proceed through the level until you reach the spot shown above, then take the lowest possible grind rail at each opportunity until you reach the point shown in image 2. Stomp down through the boxes to get into the water next to the Green Collection Key.

How to Get the Blue Collection Key

The Blue Collection Key is much further into the level, along the final stretch. Once you reach the Death Egg Robot shown in image 1, use Chaos Control to freeze its arm and climb on top of it, using it to get to the upper path on the right. A grind rail along this path holds the Blue Collection Key.

All Collection Keys in Sunset Heights Challenge Acts in Sonic X Shadow Generations

There are four Challenges across the two Acts of Sunset Heights, offering a total of 12 Collection Keys.

All Collection Keys in Act 1: Challenge 1 “Beware of Spinning Spikes”

To grab the first Collection Key here, you’ll need to reach the boost ring shown in image 1 before the moving blocks block it off. Use it to get to a higher area with a grind rail and snag a Blue Collection Key.

The next Collection Key is right after the aforementioned grind rail. Use Chaos Spear to activate the spring right ahead and use it to get up to a boost ring and use Shadow’s air boost to reach them if necessary. These will launch you towards a spring, so bounce off it and use Chaos Spear to activate another spring that launches you right into a Blue Collection Key.

The final Collection Key is a little way ahead. While you ride the moving platform near the end of the challenge, you’ll see a boost ring floating halfway along the course. Hop into it to get launched into the air, then homing attack the enemies up here to bounce over to a raised section where a Yellow Collection Key can be found.

All Collection Keys in Act 1: Challenge 2 “One Ring Challenge Lv 2”

The first Collection Key on this challenge is found along the main path at the spot shown above. Just grab this Yellow Collection Key on your way through.

The next Collection Key can be found in the section with a spinning spike obstacle shown above. You’ll need to be careful when timing your jump so you can land on the platform with the Blue Collection Key and hop back to safety without getting swept off the edge by the spikes.

The Final Collection key is in the platforming section shown above. Hop onto the moving platform and wait for it to be under the Blue Collection Key so you can grab it.

All Collection Keys in Act 2: Challenge 1 “Death Egg Robot Panic!”

The first Collection Key here is along the main path, hit the switch to get the Death Egg Robots to fire, then hop down through the hole they made to get to a Yellow Collection Key.

The second Collection Key is found a little further on and you’ll need to hit three switches before the path up to it is clear. Luckily they’re all pretty easy to reach, and you’ll need to hit them to continue down the main path.

The final Collection Key in this act is found near the end, after hitting a switch and frantically chasing back the way you came as a Death Egg Robot blows away the path. Hit the spring shown in the image to reach some boost rings, which will take you right to the second Blue Collection Key and then the Goal Ring.

All Collection Keys in Act 2: Challenge 2 “Dash Ring Rush Lv2”

To get the first Collection Key here, proceed through to the section shown above and jump into the upper set of boost rings. They’ll launch you right into a Yellow Collection Key.

The next Collection Key is found in the section shown above. Use the boost ring highlighted in the image to bounce up to a Blue Collection Key.

The final collection key is a bit trickier. You’ll need to bounce back and forth using the boost rings shown in image 1 to get up high, then hit the upper boost ring shown in image 2 using Shadow’s air boost. This will get you a Blue Collection Key.
