Hunter x Hunter has earned its spot among the most legendary mangas ever written, and for a good reason. The story of the Succession Contest arc has been one of the best in the manga, especially when it comes to the current events. With each chapter that Togashi drops, the story only gets more captivating, as countless plot lines will soon converge with more lives on the line.

HxH chapter 406 will see the story continue the switch over from the story focusing on the Kakin Princes and Kurapika, and instead focusing on the story concerning the mafia families, the Phantom Troupe, and Hisoka, with the latter having just returned to the story.

Nobunaga and His Group Will Jump In Action in Hunter X Hunter Chapter 406

The Group Will Head to the Heil-Ly Hideout

HxH 405 was an interesting chapter for the spiders. Nobunaga and his group of Feitan and Phinks were back under the spotlight as they were seen meeting up with some relevant members of Cha-R to ask some important questions concerning Heil-Ly. They were even allowed access to a gated door at the end of that chapter. This door will allow them to travel between the different tiers of the Black Whale a lot more easily. This will specifically allow them to reach the Heil-Ly’s hideout quicker. Nobunaga and his group seemed to have been impressed by something they saw behind the door, however, it remains to be seen what lies there.

When they reach their target tier on the Black Whale, they will have to follow the transmitter that was hidden chapters ago by Hinrigh in the Heil-Ly hideout. They will likely also reach around the location, but locating the entrance could be its own struggle, as it will obviously not be in plain sight. These three members of the Phantom Troupe will have to use their abilities and brains to find it. However, it’s also possible that they will call on at least one more member of the Spiders to help them out on this mission, specifically someone whose ability would be fitting for this.

Up until now, fans have not really seen what Nobunaga’s Nen ability does, which is intriguing as he is the only Phantom Troupe member who has not showcased his powers yet. This might be the time to show off what he can do with his Nen as has been long awaited, especially since he has held a very relevant role throughout this Succession War arc.

The Heil-Ly Could Cause Chaos In HxH Chapter 406

Dogman Tries to Kidnap Someone

Hunter x Hunter 405 set some important future events for the Heil-Ly. This chapter showed Dogman, as well as Sodom, planning to go out and kidnap someone. Who this person is, is yet to be seen. But one thing that is known is that this person will not be able to use nen.

Dogman will use the crowds caused by Halkenburg’s funeral to go around sniffing people. He can sniff people and determine their Nen type and proficiency with Nen, and even unveil their entire identity, all depending on how close he is to them. This means that Dogman will, in the Hunter X Hunter Chapter 406, be able to determine who can use Nen and who can’t, and he will be able to find someone with a Nen type that they want.

Then, Sodom will handle the kidnapping after Dogman points him toward whom he wants. When that’s done, HxH Chapter 406 could see them bring this person back to Morena, where she Could kiss them, inflicting them with her Nen ability and allowing them to awaken their Nen.

While who this person will be is unknown so far, it isn’t unlikely that Togashi will use a character that he has shown before for this. Whoever is getting kidnapped by the Heil-Ly will have a huge role to play. They will definitely force this person to cooperate, one way or the other.

Hisoka’s Involvement in the Story Grows in HxH Chapter 406

Hisoka has returned to the story in the previous chapter and could grow in HxH chapter 406. Fans had previously believed he had returned a lot earlier. However, that was revealed to be a fake Hisoka, specifically Bonolenov, a member of the Phantom Troupe disguised as him via his Nen ability to trick the mafia families.

With Hisoka making his first real appearance in HxH’s Succession Contest arc, this can only mean his growing role in the coming chapters. One thing fans will perhaps come to see in future chapters is who Hisoka is currently working with. Hisoka was aware of some things he shouldn’t be knowing at all, such as the fact that Halkenburg’s ability is a group ability, and not a solo ability. This is not really information he could have acquired on his own, especially since even among the characters in this arc, very few know of the nature of Halkenburg’s ability.

Chrollo himself believes he is in contact with one of the Kakin Princes. Out of these princes, only a few would know of the information that Halkenburg’s power is a group effort, and that would be either Halkenburg himself, Benjamin, or perhaps Kurapika, who is working for Prince Woble. However, none of these truly make sense for Hisoka to be collaborating with, so it’s possible that his alliance isn’t with a Prince, but with someone else who could have this knowledge.

A possible candidate to be revealed soon to be working with Hisoka is none other than Morena, the head of the Heil-Ly mafia family. Morena could be collaborating with Hisoka, and she may have gotten the information about Halkenburg’s powers from Kaiser, someone who could very well be controlled by a figure in Heil-Ly, as his behavior is strange, noted by Melody. Hisoka might be Morena’s joker, as referenced in HxH 405 recently. That could cause trouble for Nobunaga’s group, who seek to infiltrate the Heil-Ly hideout.

Something else that could happen soon with Hisoka is a confrontation with Bonolenov, who was spying on him. Bonolenov has no desire to fight Hisoka, as he would be very disadvantaged, but the choice might not be up to him if Hisoka catches him. This could mark the death of yet another member of the Phantom Troupe, which will only send Chrollo over the edge more. This arc will more than likely be the end of the Phantom Troupe.
