Terrifier Actor Gives Wholesome Response to Halle Berry’s Chilling Art the Clown Photo

Key Takeaways

  • Terrifier 3 is a hit at the box office, earning $49 million worldwide with a modest $5 million budget.

  • Despite some traumatized viewers in the UK, Terrifier 3 puts a dark twist on the holiday season loved by many.

The man behind the petrifying makeup in Terrifier 3, actor David Howard Thornton, has commented on Halle Berry’s scary Art the Clown photo in the most wholesome way possible, even for a demented demon serial killer. Terrifier 3 was initially released in September for Fantastic Fest and then globally earlier this month, and it’s already proving to be one of the biggest movie hits of the year. Written and directed by Damien Leone, who also wrote All Hallows’ Eve and Frankenstein vs. The Mummy, Terrifier 3 follows in the footsteps of the franchise’s previous gruesome entries in which Art dresses up as Santa and brutally murders a family a few nights before Christmas before truly stepping inside the shoes of a twisted Mr Claus in a bid to slaughter a slew of victims.

Terrifier 3 has already made over $49 million at the worldwide box office, which is a fantastic feat for its director Damien Leone since the movie only had a modest budget of $5 million. Leone previously stated in an interview that even though Terrifier could be seen, at times, to be crossing certain lines in regard to its over-the-top gore and sadistic killings, there’s one line that Leone won’t cross when it comes to what he’ll show on the big screen. It’s fair to say the supernatural slasher film has gained a huge following, with one movie star, in particular, showing her love for the franchise.

Terrifier Actor Gives Halle Berry’s Art the Clown Photo Seal of Approval

Art The Clown in Terrifier

Reported by Cinemablend, the actor who plays Terrifier‘s Art the Clown, David Howard Thornton, has responded to Halle Berry’s recent photo of her snuggling up to a menacing replica of the film’s clown. The Oscar-winning actress, best known for playing Catwoman and Dr. Miranda Grey, a psychiatrist in Gothika, posted a snapshot on social media alongside one of cinema’s most terrifying clowns, a rival to Stephen King’s Pennywise. In the caption, Berry said she was “clowning around” with the frightening display in preparation for Halloween. In a surprising but wholesome turn of events, Terrifier‘s real Art the Clown posted a reply to Berry giving his seal of approval at the awesome homage to his character, stating “Honored” with a smiley clown face.

Berry has previously starred in horror films herself, with her most recent one being the 2024, Never Let Go, written by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby. Before that, the acclaimed actress starred in popular movies such as the X-Men franchise, The Call and Monster’s Ball. Even though Terrifier 3 may not be everyone’s idea of the perfect Christmas movie with joyful singing and happy moments, it certainly puts a unique and dark twist on the holiday season that many seem to love.

However, with that said, not everyone will appreciate horror themes and bucket loads of blood when heading to the cinema. In the UK, some moviegoers were apparently left traumatized after Terrifier 3‘s opening scenes due to not being told what they were initially going to watch, and seemingly only told it was an unrated movie that was also a “holiday” story.
