Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 – 10 Best Sight Reticles
It’s the most frequently looked at part of the gun, after all.
However, like every multiplayer shooter, some guns are simply better than others, with a select few outclassing their competition so completely that they define how the game is played. That’s not to say you can’t do well with less effective weaponry, but knowing where your gun of choice stands in a tier list of the best weapons can be very helpful.
Multiplayer Weapon Tier List
Here, you’ll find all 33 weapons in Black Ops 6 listed in relative order of effectiveness. The higher up they are on this tier list, the better they are in any given situation, on any input type, and any map or mode.
Lower-tier weapons aren’t necessarily useless but will require you to modify your strategy and, depending on your skill level, avoid certain maps and modes entirely.
The Face Off mode and maps are small and chaotic enough that this list only takes them in tangentially. These rankings are primarily based on each weapon’s performance in core modes.
Rankings are made without meta attachments in mind, as guns can be better or worse than others based on one or two attachment choices out of a possible eight.
S-Tier Weapons
Weapon |
Slot |
Type |
Description |
---|---|---|---|
XM4 |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The XM4 is the first weapon you’re likely to use and is one of the best in the game. It has solid damage and predictable recoil and will do well in any situation on any map. It lacks any specialty but is well-rounded enough not to need one. |
AS Val |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The AS VAL isn’t available until you reach level 55, but even with its starting 20-round magazine, it is consistent enough to play with the best guns in the game. That it has a built-in suppressor puts it over the top. |
C9 |
Primary |
SMG |
The C9 is the starting SMG and one of the few weapons in Black Ops 6 that can kill in four shots. Its power is held balanced by a slower reload, but the mobility and stopping power it offers are at the top of the list. |
PP-919 |
Primary |
SMG |
The PP-919 removes one of the SMG class’s weaknesses — ammo economy — simply by existing. It comes with a 64-round drum magazine by default, meaning it can put endure multiple engagements long before it needs to reload. |
Tsarkov 7.62 |
Primary |
Marksman Rifle |
The Tsarkov 7.62 has two traits that put it at the top of its class: one-shot headshots and incredible consistency. Even against SMGs and ARs up close, if you land a headshot, fully automatic means nothing for your opponent. |
AEK-973 |
Primary |
Marksman Rifle |
The AEK-973 is a lot like the Tsarkov as far as controllability goes, and while it won’t one-shot to the head, it will kill in one-burst from almost any distance if you land all three bullets, and it’s so easy to use, you’ll do that a lot. |
SVD |
Primary |
Sniper Rifle |
The SVD takes the Tsarkov’s one-shot-kill potential to another level, killing in one bullet from the chest up and sending your opponent flying. That it’s semi-auto means it can compete up close with any other gun in the game. |

---|---|---|---|
AK-74 |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The AK-74‘s main issue is its fire rate and slightly heavier recoil, but you can account for those. Keep it relatively close to your enemy, and they will go down in four hits. Every time. |
AMES-85 |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The AMES-85 is the lower-power, lower-recoil assault rifle in Black Ops 6, and what it lacks in stopping power it makes up for in sheer reliability. Need to kill something in five shots from almost any distance? Look no further. |
Model L |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The Model L is a more powerful AMES-85, capable of four-shot kills to a considerable distance. It’s a bit harder to control, but that’s a fair trade. |
KSV |
Primary |
SMG |
The KSV is a fantastic weapon, with good damage and usability at its optimal range, no matter how you kit it. It’s not quite as good as the C9 at a distance, but it can still hold its own. |
Tanto .22 |
Primary |
SMG |
The Tanto .22 is one of the only weapons in Black Ops 6 that can kill in three shots but trades stopping power for rate of fire, meaning one missed shot drastically increases its time to kill. |
Jackal PDW |
Primary |
SMG |
The Jackal PDW was a menace in the betas and has since had its teeth dulled, but it remains a powerful weapon in anyone’s hands, even if its firepower isn’t quite as dominating as it once was. |
Kompakt 92 |
Primary |
SMG |
The Kompakt 92 is the opposite of the Tanto .22 in almost every way. It has the fastest fire rate and lowest base damage in its class, but keep your enemies close, and they’ll keep the grave closer. |
Marine SP |
Primary |
Shotgun |
The Marine SP is the better of the two shotguns in Black Ops 6 for its one-shot potential. Fighting this thing feels oppressive, and it always will. |
XMG |
Primary |
LMG |
The SMG wins the title of best LMG by handling a weapon similar to the XM4, as you’d expect from a weapon from the same weapon family. 100 rounds on an M4-style weapon is hard to beat. |
DM-10 |
Primary |
Marksman Rifle |
The DM-10 drops a peg from the Tsarkov 7.62 because it takes two headshots to kill but stays in the upper echelons because of its lengthy two-shot-kill range and fantastic handling. |
LR-7.62 |
Primary |
Sniper Rifle |
The LR-762 wins out against its only remaining Sniper Rifle competition by offering one-shot-kills from the stomach up, from almost any distance. |

GPR 91 |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The GPR 91 is a fine assault rifle, but its slow rate of fire and low damage hold it back even against similar low-damage options like the Ames-85. It’s usable in similar situations, but struggles a bit more. |
Goblin MK2 |
Primary |
Assault Rifle |
The Goblin MK2 struggles in a game with weapons like the DM-10, Tsarkov 7.62, and the SVD. It’s a single-shot weapon that takes three bullets to kill. It’s good, sure, but far from great. |
ASG-89 |
Primary |
Shotgun |
The ASG sacrifices range for fully automatic capabilities, and in its short optimal range (thankfully common enough in Black Ops 6), it’s a menace. But you’re usually better off with something else. |
PU-21 |
Primary |
LMG |
The PU-21 is a consistent, useful LMG for holding down positions. Thanks to its average rate of fire, it holds its own even at close range. However, the low damage holds it back. |
GPMG-7 |
Primary |
LMG |
The GPMG-7 is the fastest-firing LMG by a wide margin, losing damage to accommodate its output. Being an LMG naturally means it slows down everything else about your character, putting it here on the list. |
LW3A1 Frostline |
Primary |
Sniper Rifle |
The LW3A1 Frostline is in the B-tier for one reason: it lacks the LR-7.62 huge one-shot kill zone, having one similar to the SVD instead. |
GS45 |
Secondary |
Pistol |
The GS45 is the first pistol on the list because, within its optimal range, it can two-shot anywhere on the body, which is more than enough to put it higher than its fellows. |

SWAT 5.56 |
Primary |
Marksman Rifle |
The SWAT 5.56 has neither the AEK’s one-burst potential nor the consistency of either the DM-10 or Tsarkov. It is slower, weaker, and handles worse in all the important ways. |
9mm PM |
Secondary |
Pistol |
The 9mm PM is fine. There is nothing inherently wrong with the starting pistol other than that it is unremarkable. Good damage, fast switch time, and average magazine size. You could do better, but not much worse. |
Grekhova |
Secondary |
Pistol |
The Grekhova is the only fully automatic secondary in the game, and while that should put it above its fellows, the lower damage and long reload hurt its abilities. |
Stryder .22 |
Secondary |
Pistol |
The Stryder .22 is probably the best pistol outside of the GS45. It has better damage, a much larger magazine size, and generally good stats around those two benefits. |
Knife |
Melee |
Knife |
The Knife is the only melee that can one-hit kill any enemy player, though its range is atrocious, as you’d expect. It does fine playing around in Face Off, but you’ll have a much harder task on many of the core maps. |
D-Tier Weapons

---|---|---|---|
Cigma 2B |
Secondary |
Launcher |
The Cigma 2B would be a slightly better choice in a game without an effective Flak Jacket, but because you only get one shot, the reload is so long, and you only have four rockets per life, using it is a slog at the best of times. |
HE-1 |
Secondary |
Launcher |
The HE-1 is the Cigma 2B with fewer rockets, worse handling, and generally worse stats. It stays in D-tier because it can lock on to airborne scorestreaks where the Cigma cannot. |
Baseball Bat |
Melee |
Bat |
The Baseball Bat is a worse Knife in every way that matters: it takes two hits to kill, swings slower, and requires a long animation to kill. |
