I’m getting that feeling too. At first I figured it would be around the same as the PS4 pro in terms of sales but the sentiment seems to be shifting despite all the haters. Sony is gonna make a killing on it and I’m all for it. And no I don’t believe this will set a new standard for pricing since initial launch consoles don’t follow the same pricing philosophy as mid gen upgrades
