Key Takeaways

  • The concept includes two variations of jack-o’-lanterns as well.
  • Many in the game’s community support the idea, hoping Mojang will consider adding them.

One Minecraft fan has created an exciting concept for pale pumpkins to go with the new Pale Garden. While Mojang has revealed various new content coming with the Pale Garden update, Minecraft fans think that adding a new pumpkin variant could make the spooky biome even better.

In October, Mojang held its 2024 edition of Minecraft LIVE, giving fans a peak at some of the plans for the franchise. In addition to providing updates on A Minecraft Movie, Mojang detailed new content coming to the main game. The highlight was the Pale Garden, a spooky biome full of pale oak trees. The creepy aesthetic was amplified with the introduction of the Creaking, a new mob that looks like a tree and can be deadly. While the biome introduces pale oak wood and pale moss, fans think another block could make the Pale Garden even better.

To help add to the look of the Pale Garden, a Reddit user known as Mr_CrowJo has proposed adding pale pumpkins to the mix. The fan’s concept included images of what the block could look like in the game, showing a patch of pumpkins among the new variants of oak and moss in the Pale Garden. Mr_CrowJo’s design gave the standard pumpkin block a white coloration, fitting in nicely with the surrounding vegetation in the new Minecraft biome.

Minecraft Fan’s Pale Pumpkin Concept for the Pale Garden

Beyond showing the pumpkin block design, the Reddit user detailed their concept for two versions of jack-o’-lanterns. According to Mr_CrowJo, an eyeblossom from the Pale Garden inside a cracked pumpkin could cast an orangish light. However, players could also create a blue version by placing a soul torch inside of it. Each design might provide an unsettling appearance that could pair well with the mysterious biome.

Many Minecraft players liked this proposed addition to the Pale Garden, with more than 2.1K users upvoting the post. In the comment section, fans said they hoped that Mojang would add something similar to the game in the future. In addition, the pale pumpkin design reminded some users of the White Pumpkin, a villain seen in Minecraft: Story Mode.

Time will tell if Mojang elects to add pale pumpkins to Minecraft in the future. Ahead of the Pale Garden’s release in the base game, the developer continues to add new things through Java snapshot and Bedrock preview/beta. With this in mind, more content could come to the Pale Garden in Minecraft before its full release.
