How to Get Lapras ex in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s first ex drop event has arrived, and it features the iconic Water-type Pokemon from the Kanto region, Lapras. How it works is that, for a limited time, trainers can go into the Battle menu and face off against the computer’s various Lapras-themed decks in Solo battles. As a reward for clearing each deck, you will earn Pack Hourglasses, Shine Dust, Shop Tickets, and XP. However, there’s also a chance to obtain a Promo Pack featuring one unique card each, with Lapras ex being the rarest of the five.

Lapras ex Event Start and End Time and Date

The Lapras ex Drop event started today, November 5, and will close on November 17 at 11:59 pm local time
. This gives players plenty of opportunities to unlock the rare Lapras ex card.

How Do You Get Lapras ex in Pokemon TCG Pocket?

If you head into the Solo battle section of the game, you’ll see the Lapras ex Drop Event challenges. There are four tiers:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Expert

Each time you clear one of these challenges, you will have a small chance of opening a single Promo Pack, which only has one card. The series includes Lapras ex, Mankey, Clefairy, Pikachu, and Butterfree. The more challenging the deck you face off against, the likelier you are to get a card pack.

Clefairy, Pikachu, and Butterfree’s card arts are new, but the moves remain the same as their counterparts. However, Mankey’s move differs from the other base

Pikachu cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket

If you have some Pokemon TCG Pocket Rental Decks for use, you can always be safe and go with either the Lt. Surge Deck or the Pikachu ex deck. Of course, you can also check out my Pikachu ex deck build guide here if you need extra help.

Pretty much every Pokemon in these four decks are weak to Electric-type moves, so just be sure to stick with that, and clearing the challenges shouldn’t be an issue. Also, be sure to check out the Battle Tasks for each one before you start.

Completing these will reward you with Wonder Hourglasses and Event Hourglasses. The latter are used specifically during events like this, reducing the time needed to try out a battle again. And, of course, as most players are familiar with at this point, Wonder Hourglass is used to reduce the time to get Wonder Stamina for Wonder Picks.

You will only lose Event Stamina if you win a battle during the Lapras ex Drop Event challenges.
