Paqar is a unique boss who requires some extra steps to find her in Metal Slug Tactics. She can be found in the Jungle, but you will have to explore every other location, completing specific objectives to pinpoint her location and begin a battle.
This enigmatic character has some interesting moves that will keep you thinking about your next move and where exactly you should move your units. This is one of the hardest bosses in the game (much more complex than any regular region boss), and your squad can be taken out if you don’t follow her totems closely.
How To Find Paqar
Step One: Survival Mission
First of all, you need to finish a successful run at least once. After defeating Jupiter King, start a new run with any characters you want and in any difficulty, and select Argun Palm Desert as your first location.
Here you’ll receive a communication hinting at Paqar, and you’ll notice that the mission map has one objective with a cross. You need to reach it before completing the three levels you can for the area, so plan accordingly and select the objectives closest to its location.
Once you get to play this mission, it’s a classic survival one, which asks you to resist for five turns with at least one unit alive. The main addition here is that there’s a Desert Tower, a building that will prepare explosive attacks after each turn.
You’ll complete a secondary objective if you destroy the tower before the five turns end, but it’s not necessary for your victory or finding Paqar.
Survive with your team and you’ll have a dialogue with an enemy soldier, who will tell you about a convoy with navigation data to find Paqar.
Step Two: Destroy The Convoy
After defeating Big Shiee, move to Herkanet Tombs and you’ll find a new mission with an “X” on the map. Again, complete the missions you need to reach this node and access this new task.
The mission is another one you might have already played: destroy a moving convoy. This one has 60HP and you need to destroy it before it reaches the level’s exit.
When you finish the task, you’ll have a new communication with HQ about Paqar’s location.
Step Three: Jump Into The Jungle
Defeat the area’s boss, Aeshi Nero, and select the remaining location, Soursop Jungle before the city. Here you’ll receive a confirmation of Paqar’s whereabouts, and you’ll see it marked on the board.
Contrary to the previous objectives, you can jump right into the fight, without completing any other missions first. Whether you do this or not, it’s up to you — if you need to restock your ammo, revive mobiles, or anything, it will be wise to complete one or two levels before the boss fight.

Paqar is a unique type of boss compared to all the others at the end of each region: she doesn’t fight alone — and we are not talking about the army of regular enemies at the level. She will summon two totems at the beginning of the battle, and she will continuously spawn them after one turn when destroyed.
These totems aren’t that difficult to destroy as they have three HP. However, they can be summoned anywhere on the battlefield, and they can attack you in two different ways: burning an area with Holy Fire (Phoenix Idol) or marking an area for an attack after one turn (Hound Idol).
Holy Fire damages your units if you stay on the squares with blue flames, or heals the enemy’s soldiers if they stand on said squares.
Paqar has her own attacks. She can mark your units and attack them after one turn, making you find cover, and she can also attack in straight lines, to her sides and in front and behind her location.
One thing to keep in mind is that Paqar will be constantly moving around the scenario, in every portion of the arena that has four free spaces. This will be pre-announced by her and performed after one turn, just like with her idols.
How To Defeat Paqar
The name of the game is Search and Destroy. This boss will make you move around like no other since their teleportation mechanic gives her plenty of freedom. Plus, her idols, while they don’t do heavy damage, they can become annoying quite quickly and leave your units hurt.
First of all, you should locate the idols and separate two of your units for them. Generally, they will be pretty far away from one another, so you won’t be able to destroy them both with only one character. On the other hand, their low health makes them an easy feat for almost every weapon or ability.
While we generally recommend not minding the rest of the regular enemies in the arena, here you should pay a bit more attention to them. The Jungle’s units can deal quite some damage and have high HP — and they can be healed with the Holy Fire! Most importantly, sometimes they block the paths that you need to use to reach Paqar, so some of them should be eliminated without a second thought.
The third unit should be on their way to hit Paqar or at least clean any enemy unit that is standing in your way or close enough to deal damage. Use the plant trampoline on the right region of the arena, after the rope, to reach longer distances with only one move.
Keep an eye out for the covers you can find in the scenario. A small one in Paqar’s starting area, one on the lower ground, and two on the right side of the level (one on the middle floor; the other at the top).
If you successfully defeat the two idols in one turn, you’ll have a free turn to (ideally) move all three units closer to Paqar. You have to position your characters in range for a Synchronization attack if possible, or at least to have one weapon or ability that can deal some damage.
Paqar won’t move until you see a teleportation notice, which will mark a new area on the map, and it takes a whole enemy turn to be completed.
When Paqar is about to move, you can choose to either move to her future next location or attack her before she makes the change. We recommend the latter, as you should take every chance to deal damage that you can.
Remember that you will only be able to perform Synchronization once, because the bosses in Metal Slug Tactics have a special defense that activates after receiving one coordinated attack, negating successive Synchronizations for the rest of the turn.
While your units should be close to Paqar, try not to put them too close to each other. Paqar has a tendency to move to annoying locations that don’t have many available paths depending on your position, so it’s easy to have your way blocked by your own units — and this increases if there’s an unfortunate rival soldier next to a rope or something.
Plus, remember that its straight-line attack will cover a nice area around her, so you should be careful with it.
This is basically the strategy that you need to repeat until you achieve victory: leave two units for the idols and one should always be following Paqar. When able, group the three of them against the boss and shoot her with everything you have.
If one or two of the idols are the Phoenix type, you can just leave one unit for this task, as these idols aren’t an immediate threat — but they will make your path more dangerous, so keep an eye for their flames.
