Lucanis is a complex character battling his literal demons, and the political climate within the Antivan Crows mirrors this internal strife. While all the stories you hear about the Crows are difficult to believe, the best way to help Lucanis discover the truth is by finding it yourself. It’s up to you to help Lucanis expose his cousin Illario, and save the Antivan Crows from Venatori control.

How To Help Lucanis Rescue Caterina

You begin at the Cantori Diamond in Treviso, where Lucanis offers a briefing on the situation as you prepare to rescue Caterina, the rumored-to-be-dead First Talon of the Antivan Crows.

Follow Lucanis along the Crow’s Road Rooftops as he lays out the situation and his plan to deal with Illario.

You’ll briefly stop to defeat some Venatori (weak to Cold, resist Fire) along your path, then continue.

Follow your marker until you reach an encounter with another group of Venatori to dispatch, then keep progressing along the rooftops.

Navigate the narrow beams and keep going until Lucanis points out the tower in the distance: Villa Dellamorte, your destination.

Keep following your marker through the broken buildings and destroyed windows to yet another Venatori fight, which includes a Flame-Cloaked Magister.

After this, you’ll descend to a gondola along the shore and take it to get closer to Villa Dellamorte.

Shimmy through to the Dellamorte Cellar’s secret entrance and clear out the Venatori guards before you go upstairs into the Dellamorte Estates.

Loot the villa of all the valuables you can find as you pick off small groups of Venatori guarding the various rooms.

Eventually, you’ll reach a large door with a guard posted outside; defeat them and enter the large door to trigger a cutscene.

After a brief encounter and conversation with Caterina, it’s time to prepare for the showdown with Illario.

Head across the courtyard to a large marked door and enter it to trigger another cutscene.

How To Defeat Illario

Once Illario is done spinning his lies, Rook and Lucanis interrupt to begin the battle against Illario, who is weak to Cold and resists Fire.

Illario is also joined by his Venatori allies as he demonstrates his speed by zipping around the room.

Illario wields his dual scythes with lethal ferocity, so be on your guard and prepare to dodge at any moment. Eliminate his Venatori allies first so you don’t lose track of this speedster.

Once the Venatori are cleared out, Illario can be cornered with combination attacks, but don’t stop weaving in dodges as you unleash burst damage on Illario, or whittle away his health with lingering status ailments.

After you defeat him, you have a brief moment to make an important decision about Illario’s fate: free him or imprison him.

What Rewards Do You Get From A Murder Of Crows?

With the battle done and Lucanis promoted to First Talon, you can celebrate with these rewards:

  • Increased bonds with your companions
  • +100 Antivan Crows Strength
  • Legendary Armor for Lucanis

In addition to the fantastic relationship boosts and amazing new armor for Lucanis, he will also receive the Blood Ties upgrade, which will unlock the Demon of Defiance and Crows Tenacity skills.
