Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Remix is going strong. Though the schedule is brief, it’s filled with nostalgic callbacks to the 2019 OG Fortnite map, celebrity appearances, and a special Juice WRLD tribute set for week three. Meanwhile, anticipation continues to build for Chapter 6 and upcoming updates.
Looking to the future, recent leaks indicate that Epic Games is working on several new game modes. At least nine have already been found in the game files, as reported by the well-known Fortnite leaker Egyptian_Leaker on X, formerly Twitter. Since these rumors began gaining traction on November 3, there will likely be even more information to unveil soon.
Many of these game modes remain unconfirmed by Epic Games and should be regarded as rumors until officially announced.

Fortnite’s Battle Pass Progression Changes Are a Massive Boon for Fans of Multiple Game Modes
News of several major changes coming to Fortnite’s battle pass system in December is spreading fast, and it’s a massive win for multimode players.
At Least 9 New Modes Are Being Developed for Fortnite
Open World Mode
Currently referred to in data files as “Arnold,” this is believed to be Fortnite‘s version of an open-world game, separate from LEGO Fortnite. Last detailed by Jorge_Most_ on X, it’s said to include the following:
- Story and lore, which are comprised of three acts
- World bosses
- Secondary characters, NPCs, and sellers
- Dedicated lobby
- Varied biomes and zones
- Diverse wildlife
- Dynamic locations
- Vehicle usage
Unfortunately, it is believed that the game mode may have been scrapped, as it has been in development for at least two years without any mention in the game files for over six months.
5v5 Core Mode
Reported under the code name “Feral,” theories claim that Fortnite is developing its version of Overwatch 2. The mode features two teams of five, with data indicating a “T” rating, suggesting it will be a gunfight mode. Given that it will include Ranked play and serve as a core game mode, the 10-player lobbies may operate similarly to objective-based games like Overwatch 2 and Valorant.
OG-Mode
Code-named “Figment,” this may be Epic Games’ attempt to bring back the nostalgia of early Fortnite days through a dedicated game mode. Given the success of the initial return of OG Fortnite, this seems like a promising idea. As of November, reports indicate that it will feature both Build and Zero Build modes, accommodating all party sizes.
Unknown Vehicle-Oriented Mode
Currently referred to as “Imperial,” details about this mode are limited. Leakers suggest that it will prominently feature vehicles from Battle Royale, though it won’t be connected to Rocket Racing. Additionally, NPCs will be included, and it may only support parties of two.
Mini-Battle Royale Mode
Labeled as “LightBunny” in the game files, this appears to be a mini Battle Royale mode available exclusively for solo play. With lobbies accommodating up to 50 players, it could offer a faster-paced alternative to the original game. Due to the limited information, some theories propose that it might feature a smaller map similar to Fortnite Reload.
New LEGO Modes
Seemingly linked to LEGO Fortnite, which drew nearly 2.5 million players at launch, the mysterious modes code-named “Rivalry” and “Sprout” are anticipated for release with Chapter 6 on December 1. While details about “Rivalry” remain scarce, “Sprout” is said to focus on jobs, allowing players to take on roles such as auditors, accountants, and more. However, leakers believe that “Sprout” will be a new meta-mode, meaning the mode will use LEGO assets but may not share many other similarities with the open-world survival game.
Changes to Fortnite Reload
Rumors allege that Epic Games will rotate between two different maps every sixty minutes in Fortnite Reload. Launched on June 22, 2024, Fortnite Reload has quickly gained popularity for its Reboot Rifts, even though it isn’t a permanent game mode. The map playlist is expected to arrive in the next update.
Although Epic Games isn’t designating
Fortnite
Reload as a permanent mode, the developers have not provided any indication of when it will come to an end.
Unknown Limited Time Mode
Currently referred to as “SweetSpoon,” information about this game mode is scarce. Besides being a new Limited Time Mode (LTM) for Fortnite, the possibilities for gameplay are endless. After all, since its launch, Fortnite has showcased hundreds of LTMs that often introduce unique mechanics or variations on the standard battle royale experience, enabling players to participate in a variety of themed challenges and unique experiences.
