Dragon Age: The Veilguard's First Patch Will Fix Crashes, Skill Resets

It took 10 years, but Dragon Age The Veilguard finally arrived last week, earning decent reviews, including a 7/10 in our own Dragon Age: The Veilguard review.. The biggest negative consensus came from unintended bugs and glitches, but still ran pretty smoothly. BioWare wasted no time in rolling out the first patch for the game, which will hit later this week, and clean up some of the bigger flaws in the game.

Taking to social media, BioWare laid out some of the planned fixes but didn’t go into more specifics outside of crashes, cosmetic issues, and companion problems. “We have our first patch for Dragon Age: The Veilguard coming later this week to all platforms,” BioWare explained. “This patch will include some bug fixes, minor balance changes, and some crash mitigations.”

For example, BioWare mentioned that it fixed an issue where DLSS options could end up “grayed-out” on a 40-series Nvidia GPU. So if you’ve been wanting to use Nvidia’s AI upscaling for a better resolution but found that it doesn’t work properly, that’s getting taken care of.

Another big problem was that one of your companions in the game would suddenly have all of their skill points reset. BioWare will be fixing this as well so you don’t have to rework your skills every time.

Lastly, and probably the most annoying, some player-characters had a problem where their customizations suddenly changed during the ending of the game. While that’s being fixed, if you’ve already finished the game and found your character looked a little different right at the end, that won’t happen on your next playthrough.

You can read more about the game’s ending and finales, and our guide on how to get that super-secret post-credit scene, and even how to save a certain character in the end. .
