Black Ops 6 Zombies Liberty Falls main quest guide

Black Ops 6 Zombies Liberty Falls main quest guide

How do you complete the Liberty Falls main quest in Black Ops 6? Modern Warfare 3 Zombies took the mode in a new direction and, while it was certainly fun, nothing can compare to the classic round-based mode of old. Treyarch has delivered an excellent Zombies experience in Black Ops 6, and there’s a full questline to complete while you’re popping heads off the undead.

Sure, you can jump into Black Ops 6 to see how many rounds you can survive in the zombie game, but the real fun lies in the Liberty Falls main quest. There’s something incredibly satisfying about completing the hidden easter egg quests – not to mention the unlockable rewards to boot. Read on to find out how to craft the Thrustodyne M23 ‘Jet Gun’ Wonder Weapon in the multiplayer game and complete the Liberty Falls main quest in full.

Here are the steps to complete the Liberty Falls main quest in Black Ops 6:

  • Craft the Jet Gun
  • Investigate the church and interact with the SDG generator
  • Pack-A-Punch
  • Use the Jet Gun to obtain components to craft the LTG
  • Craft the LTG
  • Charge Dark Aether Canisters and activate projectors
  • Trigger and survive the Final Encounter

How to craft the Jet Gun

You must complete a three-stage quest to obtain the Jet Gun Wonder Weapon. Alternatively, it is possible to get the Jet Gun from a Mystery Box, but the chances are slim. We recommend giving it a shot first just to try your luck, but don’t waste too much precious Essence on the Mystery Box as you will need it later. If you do want to get the Thrustodyne early, giving you lower tier zombies to fight for the rest of the quest, you could use a Wonderbar! Black Ops 6 Gobblegum, which guarantees one of the map’s two BO6 Wonder Weapons.

The next four steps can be completed in any order, but we’ve arranged them in what we consider to be the easiest. Be sure to collect as much Salvage as possible in the early stages as it’s required to craft items.

Open room 202

While you can open this door at any time, we recommend doing this step as early as possible while zombies are easier to kill. It’s worth doing even before you’ve opened your first barrier as it helps boost your Essence total.

Head up the stairs of the Motor Lodge motel in the spawn area and turn to your left. As you move along the corridor, a door bursts open, sending a small batch of zombies towards you. That’s all you need to do for now as you make your way to the next step.

Obtain the Tool Shed Key and get the Handbrake

To get the Tool Shed key, you must kill the undead Groundskeeper. He’ll spawn in the cemetery next to the church, so you need to unlock the way there. You can go in either direction, but we recommend picking whichever way the Mystery Box is so you can use it as soon as possible. When you spawn, head in the direction of the white beam of light in the sky to find the box.

Once you reach the church and cemetery, survive the zombies until the Groundskeeper shows up – immediately recognizable by his overalls, plaid shirt, and unique ‘Groundskeeper’ title above his head. He doesn’t attack but instead runs away, eventually escaping into the void, so kill him before he makes it out.

Pick up the key and use it to enter the tool shed in the Groundskeeper’s Yard. Leave the cemetery, turn left and unlock the Hill Street barrier if you haven’t already, then turn left again to find the shed in front of you. Collect the Handbrake from inside to complete this step.

Get the Water Pressure Gauge

Next, you must collect the Water Valve from in front of the flower shop on Washington Avenue. As with the other items, there is no interaction icon, simply press your interaction button near the tap to the right side of the broken window.

Take the valve to the bowling alley, where you’ll find a panel on the wall to the right side of the lanes. This bit is tricky, particularly in solo mode. It’s doable, but you’ll need to stock up on decoy grenades first. You could also consider doing this step first if you’re solo, so the zombies are less powerful.

Use the valve on the panel, and then hold down the interact button to fill the gauge. To complete this section, you must hold the button down the whole time, meaning you can’t defend yourself. Get your squad to help, utilize Energy Mines, or use those decoy grenades.

To do the latter two, or defend yourself in a pinch, you can let go of the valve – your progress is saved for a time before regressing and eventually resetting, so don’t step away for too long. Once the gauge is full, it pops off the wall and you can collect it.

Enter Radio House Electronics and obtain Electrical Wires

With the Handbrake and the Water Gauge in hand, there is now one more crafting item to pick up. For this, you need a Mangler Cannon or Mutant Injection. Cannons can drop from Manglers, which start to spawn from level 11, and you must aim for the cannon when attacking them to cause it to drop. Mutant Injections, meanwhile, can be obtained from SAM Trials, the Liberty Falls vault, or as rare enemy drops. However, we’d suggest crafting either a Mutant Injection or the cheaper Cannon from a crafting bench as far simpler alternatives. When defeating Manglers (and Abominations) though, you should also keep an eye out for Zombies loot key drops.

Craft the Cannon for 1,250 Salvage (or the Mutant Injection for 2,250) at the workbench at Riverside Backstreet Parking and head straight to Radio House Electronics on Riverside. Blast down the gate at the front of the store with your cannon to enter. Interact with three mounds of broken electronics on the floor, and then collect the Electrical Wires item that spawns.

Craft the Jet Gun

Head to the Motor Lodge room we opened up earlier. Inside, you’ll find another crafting bench specifically for the Thrustodyne M23 blueprint. Simply craft the Jet Gun and you’re done.

However: before doing this, we recommend getting down to the last zombie of the round or between rounds, as the small room could be problematic if you get blocked in by the undead.

Investigate the church and Pack-A-Punch

You can unlock the church earlier on if you wish, and use the Pack-A-Punch weapon earlier, too. We’ve left it until now, though, as you can Pack-A-Punch the Jet Gun, so it’s worth saving your Essence for that.

Unlock the barrier to the church for 2,500 Essence, and you’ll see the old familiar Pack-A-Punch machine on the chancel. Pack-A-Punch your primary weapon or your Jet Gun, depending on what you have equipped and how much Essence you have.

  • Pack-A-Punch I – 5,000 Essence
  • Pack-A-Punch II – 15,000 Essence
  • Pack-A-Punch III – 30,000 Essence

Interact with the SDG generator

Now, approach the Dark Aether machine on the right side as you’re looking at the Pack-A-Punch machine. This is an Easter Egg, so there is no interact icon, just use your interact button when facing the machine, and you’ll know it’s worked when a white flash takes over the screen. Side note – if you’re on controller, you might need to hold down the interact button.

That flash of white should have a nuke effect on any nearby zombies as the ghostly form of Panos appears on the church balcony. He’ll ramble on at you for a while, during which point another horde of zombies may fill the church. Defeat them, listening to the voice-over if you want to know what’s going on, and continue on your quest.

Obtain the components using the Jet Gun to craft the LTG

This is the reason you need the Jet Gun. The quest itself requires you build the LTG, but the components for this are unobtainable without the powerful suction of the jet engine weapon. Use the suction of the Thrustodyne to collect components from the following locations:

  • The Church – in the air to the left of the church balcony.

  • Washington Avenue – through the open top-floor window above Buzz Cuts barber.

  • Olly’s Comics – through the hole in the ceiling.

Craft the LTG

Once you have all three components, as with the Jet Gun, the LTG can only be crafted from a specific workbench. This one is on the roof of Savings and Loans. You can get here using the ascender outside the bank, or the zip line from the cemetery.

Crafting the LTG is as simple as interacting with the machine, but, as always, you’ll have a horde of zombies after you, so make sure you’re prepared.

Charge Dark Aether Canisters

This is where things start to get really complicated. Once you’ve crafted the LTG, head back to the church where you can now pick up an Aether Canister from the SDG Generator. You’re only able to walk while holding the Canister, so make sure you have your squad around you or that there are only one or two zombies left in the round.

Charge the first canister

Take the canister to the spawn location and place it near one of the four activation pads for the Dark Aether machine, as we’ve shown in the image above.

Next, head to Riverside, place the LTG under the Dark Aether storm and protect it. Zombies are instantly killed if they get too close, but it damages the LTG, so you need to prevent them from getting near.

After a while, an Abomination will spawn (the three-headed mutant monster) and you must defeat it near the Aether Canister using the Dark Aether trap. Reduce its health and lead it to the trap before switching it on, making sure it’s stunned by the trap when you deal the finishing blow. This can be tricky, and if you kill the Abomination outside the trap area it won’t work. Fail, and you need to wait for another Abomination to spawn and try again.

However, do it correctly, and this charges the canister. You now have 90 seconds to get it back to the SDG Generator, but you can return for the LTG later.

Activate projectors

On returning the charged canister to the machine, you can obtain the Strauss Counter. Use this to interact with each of the projectors you may have already spotted around the map in the following locations:

  • Next to the Groundskeeper’s house.

  • On the grassy bank between the church and the bowling alley.

  • On the roof of Yummy Freeze, accessible by unlocking the boarded barrier on the Savings and Loans roof.

When you interact with a projector with the Strauss Counter, a color shows on the counter: green, yellow, or red. Each time you interact with the projector, the colored light on top changes to one of these three colors. Simply match the color to the Strauss Counter as follows:

  • Red – Green
  • Yellow – Yellow
  • Green – Red

This spawns another canister at the spawn location. Pick this up along with the LTG you left at Riverside and head to the Dark Aether trap off Washington Avenue.

Charge the second canister

Follow the same steps as you did with the first canister. This time, however, place the canister on the Dark Aether trap just off Washington Avenue and the LTG at the Dark Aether storm in the cemetery. In another change, you’ll be fighting a Mangler instead of an Abomination.

Once you defeat the Mangler in the trap area and charge the canister, return it to the generator in the church, again before the timer runs out.

Trigger and survive the final encounter

Since the final quest event doesn’t happen automatically, you have as much time as you need, zombie wave dependent, to prepare. Kit yourself out with increased rarity weapons, all the Pack-A-Punch you can afford, and armor upgrades. Likewise, some Gobblegums, ammo mods, and throwables wouldn’t go amiss either. Mutant Injectors via the crafting bench are also a great shout here.

Once ready, head into the church and interact with the SDG Generator one last time, and let the battle commence. You’ll face three rounds of zombies, with elite monsters as well, including Manglers and Abominations. Upon defeating the final Abomination and all the zombies in the round, you will be downed. Don’t panic, it’s all part of the story.

Another cutscene later – which we won’t spoil – and that is the end of that. With the quest now over, you have the option to leave or carry on with your incredible arsenal, and see how many more rounds you can survive. If you choose the latter, there’s loads of great gear up for grabs.

Black Ops 6 Liberty Falls main quest rewards

For completing the Liberty Falls easter egg quest, you are granted up to three unique rewards that are perfect for showing off your prowess, including a skin for the Ray Gun Wonder Weapon.

  • 5,000 XP
  • Ray Gun PJ-SRU weapon skin
  • Classified Calling Card (only earned if you complete the quest before Direct Mode is released.)

And that’s all you need to complete the Liberty Falls main quest in Black Ops 6 Zombies. With seasonal content on the way, there may be more BO6 Zombies maps and challenges to come, so we’re looking ahead to the next Black Ops 6 season. Once you’ve nailed the Liberty Falls main quest, it’s time to take on the larger Terminus main quest, for which we have a handy walkthrough guide.
