Beloved free game World of Tanks is getting one of the greatest crossovers ever

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, For Honor, and Valheim are some of the greatest Viking games in PC history, but do you know what they don’t have? Tanks. The ominous, thundering rumble of an incoming Sherman is a perfect spiritual companion to the world of Norse mythology, and yet somehow, a crossover between artillery and Asgard has never materialized – until now. One of the most popular and longest-running free PC games, World of Tanks is about to get a new battle pass that finally introduces Vikings. They can join your crew. There’s even an exclusive Viking-themed tank for you to earn.

The new World of Tanks battle pass is a collaboration with Vikings, the historical TV show that began back in 2013. For two weeks in the free PC game, Ragnar Lothbrok, Bjorn Ironside, and Ivar the Boneless are available as basic battle pass rewards, and you can recruit them to your crew to provide rousing speeches during combat. Two other Norse crewmembers, Lagertha and Floki, are also available, though you will have to buy them separately.

The meat of the battle pass however is the new 40-stage rewards ladder. As you work your way through, you’ll unlock Viking-inspired 2D decals that you can use to add warrior flavor to your tank fleet, as well as other items like currency, blueprints, and emblems. And then comes the true prize. Complete the entire battle pass, and you get the Felice tank with the exclusive, Scandinavian-inspired Westward Bound livery. It’s decorated with swords, axes, and tribal flags, and a lone raven flies above the Viking Felice at all times, in tribute to the mighty Odin.

The World of Tanks Vikings battle pass goes live on Thursday November 7 and runs until Monday November 18. If you want to give it a try, just head right here.
