Although Dragon Age: The Veilguard possesses the element of fantasy, there is some realism to it, like the fact you can romance certain companions. While it’s not heavily focused on, players can still steal some intimate moments with their desired companion to get some romance going.
Romancing characters in Dragon Age: The Veilguard have a similar process to all of them, as you need to complete companion quests, choose the heart options during dialogue, and gain their approval through certain actions.

Harding is a familiar face from the Inquisition in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. You are immediately introduced to her at the beginning of the game as she’s stopping Solas’s ritual with Varric. She’s adorable and deeply connected to the earth as a Dwarf.
Lace will play a major role in The Veilguard as she connects players with many of her contacts to help with their cause. Actually, it is through her that Rook eventually meets Davrin. Rook will spend time with Harding and help her control her newfound powers, and you can spend some private moments with her.

Veil Jumpers |
Bellara is the tinkerer of the group. There is no machine or device that she doesn’t know its use and how to fix, as she’s highly knowledgeable in ancient elven machinery. Rook will meet her in the Arlathan Forest for the first time and then invite her to the Lighthouse. The elf is unpredictable in the best way possible and can be quite eccentric.
She tries her best to get along with everyone at the Lighthouse and strike up relevant conversations. She can be a bit talkative sometimes and will go on and on about certain elven tech until someone stops her, but that just adds to Bellara’s personality.
Neve Gallus

Shadow Dragons |
Many traits describe Neve Gallus like aloof, witty, shrewd, and resourceful. She hails from Minrathous, and she mainly works as a private detective. Neve is a bit of a workaholic since other than her work and helping stop the elven gods, she’s also a member of the Shadow Dragons.
She gets along fairly well with everyone while playfully bantering occasionally. Neve’s romance is on the slow side, as the Mage needs to trust you fully before reciprocating the feelings.
Lucanis Dellamorte

Antivan Crows |
The infamous Demon of Vyrantium that left uncountable corpses of blood mages and Venatori behind is actually reserved and prefers a quiet evening with a good cup of coffee. His grandmother and the First Talon of the Crows send you to save him from prison after he’s been presumably dead for a year.
After getting to know him and pursuing a romance, Rook discovers that he’s a sweet talker and quite a flirt. But Lucanis’s romance is more of a slow burn, and it will take a while, since he doesn’t like involving players with his problems.
Davrin

Grey Wardens |
Davrin was originally raised in a Dalish clan, but he quickly got bored and joined the Grey Wardens after many mishaps, until he’s now known far and wide as a Monster Hunter. You find out later on he’s taking care of some griffons, which are endangered species in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Rook must find all five mementos to complete the Spirits of the Dalish side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
He’s the honest and straightforward type who doesn’t like beating around the bush. Keep in mind though that Davrin and Assan, his pet griffon, are a full package, so you need to get both approval to start romancing the Monster Hunter.

Emmrich is encountered towards the end of the first act where you need to head to the Grand Necropolis in Nevarra and ask him to join. He comes to the Lighthouse later on with his skeleton friend, Manfred, and shares his knowledge about the fade with anyone who’ll listen, mostly Bellara.
The Necromancer is a complete gentleman and extremely polite. Emmrich is also very curious as he wishes to investigate whatever piques his interest. As you get to know him, both of you will go on adventures and Rook will help him with some decisions regarding his personal life.
Taash
Class |
Warrior |

Qunari |
Faction |
Lords of Fortune |
After the events that occur in Minrathous or Treviso, Rook starts asking around for a dragon hunter, which eventually leads players to Taash, who is a Qunari Warrior that belongs to the Lords of Fortune guild. After completing a quest and getting to know the Qunari, Taash is the last companion invited to the Lighthouse.
The Warrior is quite different from the rest of the companions. While most will initiate a conversation and try to soften the blow of harsh words, Taash is threading a thin line between being blunt and inconsiderate, as she doesn’t mind saying the truth even if it hurts.
