Exploring the vast lands of the Arlathan Forest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will lead players to Treasures to open, puzzles to solve, Valuable Items to collect, and secrets to uncover. The Magic Of The Ancients Quest is one of the missions that will help players uncover the buried secret in the Arlathan Forest.

Reading the scattered notes in the Ruins, players will know that someone was trying to perform a magical ritual where one has to be the caster and another has to be a vessel. Completing The Magic Of The Ancients Quest will reward players with 5 Vhenadahl’s Tears, 100 Veil Jumpers Strength, and 200 Gold in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

To trigger The Magic Of The Ancients Quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players must reach the Jagged Ruins, northwest of Arlathan Forest. To easily reach it, fix the Tattered Bridge or walk around it. Investigating the Artifact inside the Jagged Ruins will automatically initiate the Quest.

Having Bellara on the team can be helpful, since she can tinker with the messed-up artifacts, or players can simply use Solas’ Lyrium Dagger. Moreover, she seems to react to some of the scattered notes found inside.

How To Fix The Artifact In The Jagged Ruins – The Magic Of The Ancients Quest

To fix the Artifact in the Jagged Ruins, players need to tinker with the three crystals connected to it.

Crystal #1

To fix the first crystal and charge the artifact, players must:

• Jump to the platform west of the artifact.
• Follow the pathway of the road.
• Go east after reaching the stairs.
• Walk to the end of the path.
• Use Bellara to fix the crystal.
• Read the note.

Crystal #2

From the previous location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, go back to the stairs and climb it all the way up, then:

• Go to the statue with the flickering Energy Node.
• Use Bellara to tinker with it.
• Go to the Zipline.
• Use it to cross to the other side.
• Walk toward the crates.
• Fix the crystal beside it.
• Read the note.

Crystal #3

Afterward, march to the Beam Generator and connect it with the previously-fixed Energy Node. Doing so will spawn a ladder from the Node location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard toward the third Crystal location. To reach it:

• Jump along three platforms.
• Jump down to the boulder with a small chest.
• Open the chest.
• Jump down to the stairs.
• Climb the stairs all the way up.
• Use the bridge to reach the third crystal.
• Tinker it with Bellara’s ability or Solas’ Lyrium Dagger.
• Read the note.
• Collect the Promise of Glory Momento and the Treasure chest.

If players climb back to the Beam Generator and connect it to the Energy Node north of it, they can unlock the Mystical Tower as a fast travel option.
