The highly-anticipated Update 1.6 for Stardew Valley has finally launched for console and mobile, along with an additional Update 1.6.9 for all platforms, but the latest patch has caused an unexpected issue with disappearing chickens. Stardew Valley launched Update 1.6 for PC back in March, and console and mobile players are finally getting to enjoy all the content, save for one unfortunate bug.

Update patch 1.6.9 for Stardew Valley was released in tandem with the console and mobile launch of Update 1.6, and players have been quick to jump into fresh playthroughs to discover all the new changes. However, many have been encountering an issue with the Meadowlands Farm, which sees chickens disappearing if the door to the coop is left open on Day 1. ConcernedApe has noted that leaving the coop door closed for a full day seems to bring the chickens back, though he jokingly gave a “lore” explanation of a coyote infestation. The bug is currently being worked on, but players starting with a Meadowlands Farm will want to be mindful of the coop door issue until a patch is released.
