How To Solve The Wolf’s Call Puzzle In Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Throughout the Crossroads, the hub world of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can find side paths that lead to hidden memories of Solas’ rebellion against the elven gods. Each one is its own sidequest, and completing them all can give you valuable insight into Solas.
“The Wolf’s Call” is the second such quest you can find, with “The Labs Below” being the first. Both Dragon Age: The Veilguard quests take you through an important moment in elven history, and both feature a puzzle that some players may have trouble with.

How to Start The Wolf’s Call
You can find “The Wolf’s Call” when you get Harding’s quest, “An Unfamiliar Sense,” or otherwise get a chance to revisit Arlathan Forest. From the starting landmass, you should find a second boat the Caretaker can use to take you somewhere new. The new landmass is Elvhenan’s Haven.
Once you’re there, you can find the portal to Arlathan by heading east. However, if you go west instead, you’ll find the entrance to this quest immediately to the south. You can also discover several chests and an Altar of the Evanuris if you continue to explore west.
Head across the bridge and through the shimmering portal to start “The Wolf’s Call.” You should see General Felassan readying his troops, after which you’ll enter an arena and fight several elven soldiers. These soldiers (including the mages) are weak to electricity damage and resistant to fire.

How to Solve The Wolf’s Call Puzzle
After the fight, you’ll see Felassan and Solas talking, then enter a new area with more enemies. After you beat them, you should head up the stairs they came down.
Three elves are imprisoned behind a gate in this area, and you need to free them to progress. There’s a power crystal in front of the gate, but the node nearby won’t accept it. Instead, this node needs a wisp.
Pick up the power crystal and head back down the stairs. There are two large gates on either side of the staircase, and there’s a power node in front of each one. Place the power crystal on one of the nodes (either one will work).
Next, head up the staircase on the opposite side of the room. This leads to a power projector, which you can use to power the second node. This projector can reach either node.
Once both nodes have power, the gates will open. Head to the gate on the right side of the stairs to find a wisp. Unlike power crystals, you don’t need to interact with the wisp: simply walk up to it to get it to follow you, and then walk up to the wisp node upstairs to get it to settle in. After that, the elven prisoners will disappear.
You can then watch a third conversation, and a bridge will appear. Take it to reach the final fight of the quest, which features a strong guard with a tower shield.
Once you defeat all the enemies, Solas and Felassan share a few more words, and you can collect a wolf statuette to complete the quest. A path to the right will then appear that leads out of the area. Be sure to open the treasure chest you find on your way out because there’s no way back to this area.
