Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has enjoyed both critical and commercial success in the days following its release in October, with players praising the game’s multiplayer and campaign modes. However, a huge part of each Call of Duty release is its survival experience, with Black Ops 6 marking a return to form in a few ways when it comes to Zombies. Fans were thrilled by the news of the return of round-based Zombies in Black Ops 6 earlier this year, a feature that had been missing from recent installments. As with any launch, however, come glitches, bugs, and other bumps, with one player being forced out of a Zombies match while attempting to solve an Easter Egg.

Reddit user DiegoMm shared a clip of a recent Zombies match in which they were kicked from the game due to “inactivity.” While this is a common feature for most online games, the clip is specifically interesting and concerning because the player never really stopped controlling the game at all. The clip starts showing the player in the middle of Terminus’ Easter Egg in Black Ops 6 before pausing. While paused, the player can still be seen moving the cursor around, though this was apparently not enough activity, with the match ending a few seconds later.

Part of the reason this situation was so frustrating for the players was that they were in the middle of solving an Easter Egg step. Both Black Ops 6‘s two launch-day maps, Liberty Falls and Terminus, feature side and main Easter Egg.

Call of Duty Zombies Easter Eggs are notorious for being obtuse and complex, with players needing to dedicate a serious amount of time and energy in order to complete one. Easter Egg runs can often end by getting downed by a stray Zombie, though this clip highlights the possibility a player’s attempt could abruptly end depending on how long they remain “inactive.” It’s possible this was just a glitch, as the kick came only a few seconds after being paused, though players should probably keep moving just in case.

It’s unclear what direction Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will take in terms of future Zombies content, though the Treyarch team has promised to continue delivering worthwhile maps and story elements that will likely keep players hooked for the game’s life cycle.
