Where To Get Seeds In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Metaphor: ReFantazio has many uses of free time while you’re on the Gauntlet Runner, with most of them being restricted to just when it is running. As you progress through the story, new activities will open up, offering other uses of time to prepare your party for the more challenging fights ahead.

One new use of free time that will open up after a few hours of playtime is the garden. When first interacting with it, you’ll get one set of seeds to test out the mechanic, but then new ones will need to be obtained in various cities throughout the world. Here’s how to garden and where to buy each type of seed.

To garden, you’ll need a set of seeds and one day of free time while the Gauntlet Runner is moving. Interacting with the planter in the back room of the Gauntlet Runner, you’ll be able to choose which seed you’d like to plant and use the time to do so. The plant won’t be ready for harvesting until the next day, with harvesting not taking any time and it can be done when the Gauntlet Runner is not moving. Usually, you’ll get two or three of whatever you planted, and unlike cooking there is no way to make this process not take up free time.

Plants can be left and harvested over any period of time, so there’s no downside if you accidentally forget about them.

As you progress through the game and unlock these new cities, there is no reason to ever grow the seeds of a worse plant as the time and effort are the exact same, so you should always aim for better rewards. Overall, gardening offers useful items but there are other ways to level up your Archetypes fast while in dungeons, so you can save your Gauntlet Runner free time for other things.
