Horizon Zero Dawn is a massive game that offers a ton of activities for players, including hunting, grinding for machine parts, completing side quests, and more. However, these can often disrupt the pacing of the main story.
Players spend much of their time buffing their character’s stats instead of progressing through the main narrative. Thankfully, the game’s New Game Plus mode addresses this issue by removing much of the grind and allowing you to focus on the main content while still offering some additional features. If you want to learn more about New Game Plus in Horizon Zero Dawn, you’ve come to the right place.

Things To Know About New Game Plus in Horizon Zero Dawn
New Game Plus (NG+) mode offers much more than just a stronger Aloy — it provides plenty of reasons to dive back into the adventure. Here are some key features to expect:
- Cosmetic Rewards: Completing NG+ unlocks new face paints and Focus skins. The number of cosmetics unlocked depends on the difficulty setting, with the highest difficulty unlocking all available items.
- Streamlined Start: NG+ skips the game’s introduction, placing you directly into the main mission, “The Point of the Spear.”
- Exclusive Trophies: Two trophies in Horizon Zero Dawn can only be earned through NG+.
- Hunting Grounds Reset: You’ll be able to redo all Hunting Grounds challenges, as previous scores are reset.
- Ghost Levels: After reaching the level cap of 60, players can earn up to 50 Ghost Levels. These levels don’t impact gameplay but show your dedication.
New Adept Weapons and Armors
NG+ introduces a new tier of weapons and armor called “Adept.” This fourth tier includes one extra modification slot on each item, making them superior to their standard counterparts. However, there are no Adept versions of the Shield-Weaver outfit or the Tearblaster and Sylens’ Lance weapons.
