One House Deserves Hogwarts Legacy 2’s Sebastian Equivalent The Most

One House Deserves Hogwarts Legacy 2's Sebastian Equivalent The Most

Hogwarts Legacy brought both fans of the Harry Potter franchise and RPGs a title filled with exploration set in the famous fictional school of witchcraft and wizardry. When the game first launched, many were excited to dive into its story, but plenty were just as thrilled about exploring the four houses that have become established in Harry Potter lore. Hogwarts Legacy introduces special NPC companions to represent Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, but one house, among all the others, gets the most attention.

When it comes to NPC storylines, Slytherin’s Sebastian Sallow is by far one of Hogwarts Legacy‘s most well-crafted characters. Not only is the story of Sebastian trying to find a cure for his sister’s mysterious illness compelling, but he offers a substantial number of quests for players. His surprisingly noble pursuit of the Dark Arts showcases the moral gray areas in the Harry Potter universe, making him a standout character. However, while Slytherin gets a fascinatingly sympathetic representative, one house has notoriously gotten the short end of the stick in Hogwarts Legacy. The representation of Ravenclaw is a weak point in the game, and a sequel should make up for this by giving the house its own Sebastian Sallow.

Hogwarts Legacy’s Sequel Should Bring a Compelling Ravenclaw Student Into the Spotlight

Making Up For Hogwarts Legacy’s Misstep With Ravenclaw

Many fans of the Harry Potter franchise identify with Ravenclaw, so the lack of representation regarding this specific house was a big source of disappointment for many players. The game technically offers a companion NPC in the form of Amit Thakkar, but he offers significantly fewer quests than other companions, leaving him a far less well-rounded character in comparison. Hogwarts Legacy merely scratches the surface with Amit, which is further emphasized by how deep the game dives into Sebastian’s background and motivations.

Since Ravenclaw is the only house lacking any extensive companion quests, this would be a great place to start when looking for ways to improve Hogwarts Legacy in a sequel. Whether it be Amit or a fresh companion, putting the focus on Ravenclaw in a follow-up title would be one way developer Avalanche Software could rebalance the lack of the house’s representation.

Questions Regarding the Direction of Hogwarts Legacy

One of the biggest mysteries about a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel revolves around whether the game will be a direct continuation of the first entry or not. A possible time jump in the next Hogwarts Legacy game seems like the most effective way to keep things fresh, which would leave the door wide open to bring a strong Ravenclaw character into the story. Focusing a good portion of the narrative around the qualities Ravenclaws are well-known for could also be an interesting contrast to the game’s emphasis on Sebastian and his moral gray areas.

The Next Hogwarts Legacy Chapter Needs to Focus On a Better Balance Between Houses

Showcasing All Hogwarts Houses Equally

An even better solution would be for Hogwarts Legacy 2 to give equal attention to all four houses. Putting in the effort to make each house companion just as compelling and well-rounded as the next could be the best method going forward. As long as Ravenclaw gets at least as much time in the spotlight as the others, that would be enough to make up for Hogwarts Legacy‘s lack of content for the house. After a solid first chapter, a Hogwarts Legacy sequel has high expectations to meet, especially with its companion quests.

Warner Bros. CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels recently stated that a

sequel is a top priority.

The mystery of where Hogwarts Legacy will venture next is a breeding ground for speculation, making the unknown exciting. Although the future may be uncertain for such a sequel, it will hopefully inspire equal attention to all four houses and their respective companions this time around.
