Mario & Luigi: Brothership Pre-Order Guide

Mario & Luigi: Brothership Pre-Order Guide

Usually at this point in a console’s life, the release slate would have run almost completely dry and we’d know when its successor is coming. Not the Nintendo Switch. While we know a new Nintendo console is coming at some point, we have no idea when. The platform’s big releases have far from dried up too. We’ve already had a new Zelda game and a fantastic Paper Mario remake this year among so much more, and next up it’s Mario & Luigi: Brothership.

Princess Peach Seemingly Won’t Get Kidnapped In Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Man, Peach is KILLING it this year.

Considering Nintendo has a new console, with what I can only assume is a killer launch line-up, to be working on, it could have easily remade or even just remastered an old Mario & Luigi game for the Switch this holiday season and everyone would have been fine with it. This is an entirely new adventure in a series many likely assumed had been left in the past. Mario & Luigi: Brothership releases exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2024, which means if you’re reading this before then, there’s still time to place a pre-order.

Where To Find Mario & Luigi: Brothership’s Different Pre-Order Bonuses

An 'L' shaped exclamation mark accompanies a very excited Luigi in Mario & Luigi Brothership.

It took a while for Nintendo to reveal what Brothership’s pre-order bonuses would be, and once it did, it also confirmed certain bonuses are exclusives to particular storefronts. Below are all of the game’s bonuses and where you can find each of them.

The running theme for Brothership’s pre-order bonuses is that they’re all shareable. Wherever you pre-order the game – provided it’s one of the three outlets above – you will get a physical bonus designed to give one half to someone else. Or, you know, just keep both of them yourself, I won’t tell anyone. As always when it comes to Nintendo pre-order bonuses, since they’re store exclusives, you’ll either have to choose which one you like best or buy a copy of the game from each of the three stores if you desperately want them all.

Why Amazon And Walmart Don’t Have Brothership Pre-Orders

You’ll notice that a couple of the bigger online storefronts are missing from the list of options above. You might have even come here looking for an alternative to Amazon and Walmart along with an explanation as to why Brothership pre-orders aren’t available through either store. Unfortunately, there is no explanation, just an ongoing pattern pointing to issues between Nintendo and the two retailers.

The still-unexplained saga began in April 2024 when Amazon canceled pre-orders for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD without explanation. The site hasn’t stocked Switch game pre-orders since. The same thing happened with Walmart shortly after that and while the store appears to get Switch games in stock once the games have been released, it no longer offers pre-orders.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2024. It’s the final big Switch exclusive release of the year, but we already know there’s still Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, and Metroid Prime 4 Beyond to come on the Switch despite Nintendo revealing something about its next console any day now.
