Best Transformers Series, Ranked

The Transformers series has had plenty of TV series over the years. How do they stack up against each other?

In this ranking, we will be taking a look at 10 of the biggest Transformers. It’s important to remember that, due to there being countless variations of these characters, each iteration can vary in size. For example, in Generation 1, Omega Supreme is a mere 18 meters, while in some iterations he can reach up to 800 meters.

10 Majin Zarak

200 Meters

Majin Zarak

Majin Zarak is a monstrous Transformer and a member of the Predacons. Much like the Decepticons, the Predacons are pure evil and want to rule over the Universe with an iron fist. Majin Zarak comes in at around 200 meters, making him tower over most Transformers.

Majin Zarak has two main transformations, his normal ‘beast’ like appearance, which he uses when he’s destroying Maximals and Autobots alike, and his aircraft carrier alt mode, which he can use to transport fellow Predacons and launch massive attacks from the water.

9 Trypticon

270 Meters

Trypticon and Shockwave

Trypticon is a colossus Transformer, fueled by hatred for the Autobots. Although never specifically stated, his design seems to take inspiration from Godzilla. Trypticon comes in at a height of 270 meters, although his sizing is very inconsistent and often changes because of the art style or animation limitations, like in the Generation 1 cartoon.

Transformers: Best Decepticons, Ranked

The Decepticons are the force of evil in the Transformers universe. Among them, these characters are the most menacing and powerful.

Over the years, Trypticon has had many alt modes, even once being a fully functioning space station. Most often, Trypticon’s alt mode is a variation of the Nemesis class battleship and is often used by Megatron and other Decepticons to travel great distances.

8 Broadside

365 Meters

Broadside triple changer

Broadside is a rare triple changer, meaning he has three modes of transformation. When he isn’t in any of his alt modes, Broadside could be described as having a similar build to Optimus Prime, only much bigger. Broadside averages at around 365 meters

His first alt mode is his most famous, where he transforms into a full-sized Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. However, he ironically gets seasick. His second alt mode is a fighter jet often in the style of a F/A18 super hornet, and just like getting seasick, he is also scared of heights. In some iterations, Broadside has transformed into a battleship.

7 Devastator

400 Meters

Devastator

Devastator is a massive Decepticon Constructicon, consisting of six main members; Scrapper (front-end loader), Bonecrusher (bulldozer), Scavenger (excavator), Mixmaster (cement mixer), Hook (crane), Long Haul (dump truck). These members combine to create the power Constructicon Devastator. Like others in this list, Devastator’s size can vary, but he is known to be as big as 400 meters.

Devastator has been made famous by its appearance in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. He is the only Transformer on this list besides Unicron to feature in a live-action setting.

6 Lodestar

500 Meters

Lodestar in alt mode

Lodestar is a Titan Transformer who worked as a transport for the government of Cybertron before the war. She often transported important Autobots, like Sentinel Prime, around Cybertron and on off-world missions. Lodestar is one of the most luxurious Titan Transformers, coming at a height of 500 meters.

During the war, Lodestar was outfitted with a combat-ready configuration that included extra armor and multiple long-range weapons. She would often take more transport roles, as opposed to combat missions, but she was never afraid to help out when needed.

5 Metroplex

800 Meters

Metroplex in battle

Metroplex is perhaps the most famous Titan Transformer and one of the most powerful Autobots. Coming in at an average size of 800 Metres, Metroplex is an absolutely massive Transformer, often towering over his fellow Autobots. Metroplex’s main alt mode is a small city that his fellow Autobots can use to take refuge and rest in between battles.

The Transformers franchise centers on the struggle between good Autobots and evil Decepticons. Among the Autobot faction, these characters stand out.

Metroplex is arguably one of the most important Autobots, putting his body on the line, in a literal sense, to keep his comrades safe. When Metroplex isn’t housing his fellow Autobots, he can be seen on the battlefield causing immense damage to Decepticon forces.

4 Omega Supreme

805 Meters

Omega Supreme flying

Omega Supreme is one of the largest Autobots, coming in at 805 meters. He is the last surviving member of the Guardian Robots, a group of peacekeepers on Cybertron from before the war. By the time of Optimus Prime, Omega Supreme is the last standing Guardian Robot.

Omega Supreme often takes on the title of ‘The Autobots last line of defense’, as he is only called into battle when the situation is dire. He has a deep hatred for the Decepticons and especially hates Devastator and Buzzsaw.

3 Fortress Maximus

3000 Meters

Fortress Maximus

Fortress Maximus is one of the largest Transformers. Although his size can vary even at his smallest, he is still one of the biggest. Over the years, Fortress Maximus has assumed many roles, sometimes as a city for the Autobots or as headquarters for important Autobots like Sentinel Prime and Optimus Prime.

Fortress Maximus has a deep hatred for the Autobot/Decepticon war, stating his primary goal is to escape the war and live in peace. However, he would never abandon his fellow Autobots. When he isn’t a stationary alt mode like a city or headquarters, in some iterations, he has been an orbiting battle/space station.

2 Metrotitan

3200 Meters

Metrotitan

Metrotitan, formerly an Autobot, is one of the biggest Decepticons. After defecting to the Decepticons, he formed the group the Metrosquad with other members; Metroshot, Metrobomb, Metrodash, and Metrotank, and carried out multiple assaults on the Autobots. Metrotitan comes in at a massive 3200 meters, although this can vary between iterations.

In one iteration, Metrotitan didn’t defect to the Decepticons and instead stayed with the Autobots, assuming the role normally taken by Metroplex and becoming the Autobot City on Earth. Metrotitan often collides with Metroplex, but that is usually when the iteration of Metrotitan is a little smaller.

1 Unicron

Immeasurable

Unicron

Unicron, The Lord of Chaos, is very similar to Marvel’s Galactus. His sole purpose in life is to devour the multiverse, and he often consumes planets, moons and whole star systems to maintain his power levels. In different iterations, Unicron has been as large as Cybertron, and in some, even bigger, being able to hold planets in his hands.

In the Michael Bay movies, it is confirmed that Unicron is Earth, but fans will never get to see how that story would have turned out. Due to the sheer size of Unicron across his different iterations, it’s hard to say for definite his average size. However, he is usually around the size of Saturn.
