Your lure choice can make all the difference for your fishing success in Webfishing.

Unfortunately, your rod’s appearance might feel a bit plain. Why not use a cool rod? To obtain other rods, you need to complete tasks, which you can do by catching fish in your journal. But forget about those tasks—how about getting the really cool-looking Spectral Rod instead for your adventures?

How To Get The Spectral Rod

The player is fishing with the spectral rod in Webfishing.

The Spectral Rod, like other rods, changes the cosmetic appearance of your fishing rod. You can obtain other rods by completing journal tasks listed on the Pawprint Point sign. However, no tasks are required for the Spectral Rod. All you need to do is find five dirt piles containing spectral skeleton parts and then locate a hidden NPC to purchase the rod.

These dirt piles have ghostly light beams hovering above them, and you’ll need to explore specific locations on the island to find them.

Where To Find The First Dirt Pile

This dirt pile is located on the hill above the building where you can purchase scratch-off lottery tickets.

If you don’t know the location of the lottery ticket building, start from the hub to find the first dirt pile. Face away from the Pawprint Point sign. Follow the path on your right and continue forward until you reach the large lake. Head to the area across the lake where the lighthouse is located.

Keep the lighthouse on your right and follow the path, which will lead you across the wooden bridge over the river. Continue along the path, and you’ll see a blue mushroom on your right. Use it to jump to the hill ahead. You’ll find the dirt pile next to the tree.

Where To Find The Second Dirt Pile

To find the second dirt pile, start from the mushroom you used to reach the previous dirt pile. Remember, this is the mushroom near the building where scratch-off lottery tickets are sold. Once you’re at the mushroom, keep it on your right and the bench by the lake on your left, then follow the path. After walking a bit, you’ll see wooden fences ahead.

Turn your back to the fences, facing the mushroom. Use the mushroom to jump onto the high dirt wall in front of you. You’ll reach a flat grassy area. Keep the fences on your left and head toward the ocean. When you reach the end of the fences, adjust your camera angle, and you’ll spot the dirt pile on the ledge below.

Where To Find The Third Dirt Pile

To find this dirt pile, start from the hub. Face the Pawprint Point sign and cross the wooden bridge to your left. After crossing, turn left and head up the grassy hill. At the top, you’ll see another wooden bridge—approach it, but don’t cross. Keep the wooden bridge on your left and head toward the rocks you see over the river.

If you get close to the first rock in the water and keep it on your left, you’ll spot the dirt pile hidden behind some grass in the corner ahead.

Where To Find The Fourth Dirt Pile

To find this dirt pile, turn your back to the Pawprint Point sign in the hub and follow the path on your right. When you reach the large lake, you’ll see the lighthouse across the way—head towards it. Keep the lighthouse on your right and the lake on your left, then walk a bit further along the path.

Use the mushroom next to the bench on your right to jump toward the area near the lighthouse. Walk to the edge of the ledge and continue with the ocean on your left. You’ll see a beach below—jump down to it. The dirt pile will be there, but you’ll need to jump over some rocks to reach it.

If you’d rather avoid the platforming, climb back up using the ladder on the beach. With the ocean on your left, continue forward until you get closer to the lake. Across the lake, you’ll see one of the blue mushrooms—head toward it.

Turn your back to the dirt wall behind you and use the mushroom to jump up to the area above the bench. From here, look down, and you’ll spot the dirt pile. If you land carefully, you won’t need to jump across the rocks to reach it.

Alternatively, if you continue toward the fences ahead instead of jumping across the rocks, you’ll find the final dirt pile there.

Where To Find The Fifth Dirt Pile

To find the final dirt pile, start at the lighthouse. Face away from the lighthouse door and head forward with the ocean on your left. You’ll soon spot a lake, with a blue mushroom on the opposite side. Use the mushroom to jump to the area above the bench next to the lake.

This is the same alternative route you took earlier instead of jumping across the rocks to reach the previous dirt pile. In this area, you’ll see wooden fences. The final dirt pile is located near the part of the fence closest to the ocean.

Where To Purchase The Spectral Rod

Once you’ve found all five spectral pieces from the dirt piles, the easiest part is left: purchasing the Spectral Rod. To find the NPC selling the Spectral Rod, start from the hub. Turn towards the Pawprint Point sign and stand on the wooden bridge to your left. If you look to your left, you will see a waterfall. Behind this waterfall is a hidden area.

In this hidden area, you’ll find a gravestone. Approach the gravestone and press the interact button. If you’ve collected all five spectral parts, you can purchase the Spectral Rod for 500 bucks. To buy it, select the five spectral pieces you’ve gathered. The rod you purchased will appear in the Tools section of your backpack, where you can use it.

The Spectral Rod is just a cosmetic item and does not provide any bonuses like the other rods. Therefore, you no longer need to use the Simple Fishing Rod if you don’t want to. Keeping the rod you decide to use frequently on your hotbar will make things easier for you.
