How To Get The Archetypal Ring In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Metaphor: ReFantazio has a lot of useful accessories to be equipped that range from base stat increases for the character to bonus effects that are active in squad battles. There is no limit on who can equip accessories, with just about all of them having some use wherever you choose to equip them.

One of the more useful utility-based accessories is the Archetypal Ring, which increases the amount of XP an Archetype earns whenever equipped. There are many Archetypes in the game, and you’ll want to master many of them on each character to have them reach their full potential by the end of the game, making it important to maximize your earned Archetype XP as early as possible.

MP management is a key factor in dungeon exploration in Metaphor: ReFantazio; here’s how to recover MP easily.

The Archetypal Ring is sold by the Nidia Shopkeeper in Brilehaven, but only on Watersdays. The Nidia Shopkeeper is found in the Merchant’s Bazaar and is marked by the stall icon on the map and over his head, being the third merchant along the left side of the road. This merchant only sells one accessory every day, with a set five in rotation for each day of the week, as this world only has five days in a week. The merchant sells an infinite number of Archetypal Rings, meaning you can buy enough for the whole party if you check in with him on Watersdays. The days of the week in Metaphor: ReFantazio in order are:

  • Flamesday
  • Watersday
  • Arboursday
  • Metalsday
  • Idlesday

Each Archetypal Ring costs 40,000 Reeve, meaning you’ll need to farm a lot if you plan on getting multiple of these for each party member. This ring also only benefits the wearer, while Archetype XP is lowered for the rest of the party, the benefits are only received by whoever has an Archetypal Ring equipped. It can be worthwhile to purchase rings for your whole party to take advantage of every squad battle, as there is XP share across the party.

The Archetypal Ring boosts the XP earned only from Squad combat or real-time overworld combat, and won’t increase the amount of Archetype XP earned through items. Hero’s Fruit items that have a set amount of XP will still only give that exact amount of XP. While these fruits can be useful, there are easier ways to level up your Archetypes through combat, and the benefits from an Archetypal Ring will only speed up those methods.
