Head to Angler’s Inn Square in Port Brilehaven and speak with Gabby Mustari, who will give you the Trial of the Dragon: Mad Mischief quest. Chart a course for the Forsaken Tower, where you’ll face the level 70 boss, the Devourer of Nations, at the top. This boss has no weaknesses, repels Fire, and can inflict Paralysis, so equip the Venomward Charm on the protagonist and Polarity Magnets on the rest of the party.
The general strategy for most fights applies here. The protagonist serves as your primary damage dealer. Use the Inherit Skill feature to add Medica and Pen Patra from the Cleric Archetype, and Gold Rush and Almighty Boost from the Tycoon Archetype. Start the fight with Hero’s Cry, which grants four Turn Icons.
Strohl is the main buffer, using Matarukaja, Marakukaja, and Masukukaja, along with the Frigid Fortress Tactic (from the Warlord Archetype) to make the boss weak to Ice for one attack. Hulkenberg also deals damage with Blizzaton from the Elemental Master Archetype. After Strohl activates the Ice weakness, additional Ice attacks grant more turns.
Junah’s Royal Masked Dancer role is crucial. She must inherit Rakunda, Dekaja, and Debilitate to manage the boss’s buffs, while her Ice-Blue Dance enhances the Ice damage strategy. Watch for Great Dragon Shriek, which grants the boss six Icon turns.
In the first half of the fight, it uses multiple Physical attacks and causes Paralysis. If Great Fireball hits a Null Fire Armor-equipped ally, the boss will lose two turns. With persistence, you’ll defeat the boss and earn the Cardinal Dragon Raiment.

Head to Blue Sky Bridge in Altabury Heights and talk to Enraged Mustari to accept the Trial of the Dragon: Bygone Legacy quest. Chart a course for the Tower of Insolence to encounter the Devourer of Stars at the top. Party composition and skills remain the same as in the previous trial; however, for this fight, equip accessories that prevent Poison and Hex. Equip the Venomward Charm on the protagonist and bring Pen Patra to cure any party members affected by Poison or Hex.
If you have upgraded Catherina’s Bond to Rank 7, she will assist in the battle, using Superior Opening Volley to deal nearly 5000 damage to the boss. Begin the fight with Hero’s Cry and use only Almighty skills until Junah’s Ice-Blue Dance is active, allowing you to add Ice skills into the rotation. Hulkenberg’s Instant Recovery skill will cure her status ailments in one turn, but ensure Pen Patra is ready for the rest of the team.
The boss deals Dark damage, so equip Dark-resistant armor if available. Occasionally, it will use Miasma Whorl, significantly reducing the party’s health. Stick to this strategy, and soon you’ll defeat the Dragon and earn the Cardinal Dragon Robe.

Head to Edeni on Virga Island to accept the Trial of the Dragon: Heroes’ Rest quest. Chart a course for Spire of Blind Faith to face the Devourer of Flames at the top. This is the most challenging of the three Dragon fights; however, if you attempt it last, it can actually become the easiest. For the fight, equip:
- Flameseal Corselet (acquired by exchanging Gold Beetles in Port Brilehaven)
- Cardinal Dragon Raiment
- Cardinal Dragon Robe
- Crimson Split Shoes (Purify Pure White Shoes at St. Fermis Church, which you can obtain from Disgraced Ruins)
Equipping each of these items on your party members will prevent them from taking any Fire damage. If the boss targets a character wearing the Crimson Split Shoes, it will lose three Turn Icons. The boss has an attack that deals 9999 Fire damage to the entire party. You can “cheese” the fight by inflicting Fire weakness on the boss before it uses this attack, causing it to Repel and almost defeat itself.
Ensure you inherit Dekunda on one of your party members, ideally Junah, to remove the debuffs that the boss inflicts on the party. After defeating the boss, you’ll receive the Cardinal Dragon Armour.

Avoid equipping any items that Repel Magic or Physical Attacks, as the boss can use
Armageddon’s Final Sire
, which can wipe out your party in a single strike.
After completing all the other trials, make your way to the Dragon Temple to face Elegy of the Soul, a level 75 boss. This boss has no weaknesses and changes its Archetype to alter its Elemental attacks. Each time the boss changes Archetypes, it gains significant buffs, which can stack. Ensure Junah is ready with Dekaja to remove these buffs and prevent excessive stacking.
Certain Archetypes allow the boss to inflict specific weaknesses on your party, requiring immediate healing afterward. Maintain an aggressive approach. Prolonging the battle increases the likelihood that the boss will use Armageddon’s Final Sire, which could force you to restart.
Upon defeating the boss, you’ll complete the Trial of the Dragon: Essence of Power and obtain the Radiant Crystal. After the trial is complete, you will get the Entrusted Trophy/Achievement for overcoming all the trials.
