Baldur's Gate 3 Companions Have Been Recreated In Sims 4

Baldur’s Gate 3 has some of the most memorable companions in video game history. Sure, that’s a bold statement for a game that came out relatively recently, but we’re not going to forget Shadowheart, Lae’zel, Karlach, Gale, and especially Astarion. We can probably forget about Wyll, because nobody cares about him.

I made many mistakes in Baldur’s Gate 3, so my second playthrough was about making things right.

To give you an example of how memorable these companions are, one fan has recreated them in a game that is in no way close to the RPG genre. The lovable gang of misfits have been brought to The Sims 4 thanks to the hard work of one fan and the Sim creator tool. Considering that there are different looking races, they’ve done quite a great job.

Baldur’s Sims

Reddit user u/Pristine-Musician-10, who is probably a fan of Volo, used whatever tools they had to create the five companions mentioned above, along with Scratch and Dark Urge. However, they were limited to the assets that Sims provided, so they said, “I was kinda limited with what I had, Lae’zel’s skin tone, Karlach’s burn marks, Wyll’s cornrows aren’t what I’d like them to be and I genuinely had no idea what to do for durge (Dark Urge).”

They even gave starting traits to each of the Sims, based on their characters in Baldur’s Gate 3:

  • Lae’zel — Self assured, ambitious, mean
  • Shadowheart — Self absorbed, loner, kleptomaniac?
  • Astarion — Evil, romantic, mean
  • Gale — Genius, cat lover, book worm
  • Wyll — Good, practice makes perfect, outgoing
  • Karlach — hot headed, good, outgoing
  • Scratch — Loyal, adventurous, sleuth
  • Durge — Evil, mean, erratic

If all these Sims are going to live in the same house, it might finally give us the Baldur’s Gate 3 ’90s sitcom that we never knew we wanted. In fact, the creator was also planning to create relationships between the Sims. “I was intending to start Lae’zel and Shadowheart with small romance meter but it might be better to see what happens.”

Out of all these BG3 X Sims characters, I think Astarion is the one they got spot on. Lae’zel looks more like Gamora from The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Karlach definitely skipped a few days of weight training. However, Durge is, by far, the most hilarious of the lot. Bound by the creation tools of Sims 4, the only way they found to create Durge was to stick a dragon mascot head on a body wearing a full-white trench coat.

Who wouldn’t love to watch a show where the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions all share a house? While chaos can be expected, it won’t be as bad as some of these messed up playthroughs.
